As promised, I present to you a massive old school thrash compilation. If you're looking to seriously get into thrash, or maybe you already like it and would like to discover some oft-overlooked gems, this is probably the place you want to be.
Feel free to follow me and "like" the mix (it doesn't benefit me in any way shape or form but I have reason to believe it might give it a bit more exposure on the site) and share it with all your thrash-loving buddies.
138 tracks (that's 69 bands with 2 tracks each, site rules don't allow for more than 2 tracks per artist) clocking in at around 11 hours, you don't really have to listen to all of it in one sitting and there's definitely enough old school thrash here to keep you coming back for more.
Just in case anyone who's interested in thrash missed this the first time around.
Mix has also been updated with a couple of songs by Hirax and Helstar because it really felt like a shame not to include them. Not sure if I'll end up making more updates to it, nor when those might come.
Also, anyone who might be interested in a sound that I can only think of describing as "Meshuggah crossed with wanky, jazzy tech-death", feel free to check out Coprofago.
So the new Ulcerate leaked a few days ago and I have to say it's pretty damn good. If you enjoy the bleak, apocalyptic tone and suffocating dissonance of their past albums, or albums such as Immolation's Close To A World Below and Gorguts' latest (Colored Sands) then there is absolutely no reason not to listen to this.
Well, Sleep just played Dream in GSL and I wasn't awake, so I missed a probably once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to post this in a LR thread, so, there you go (post-rock / metal(ish))...

Looking forwards to hearing the new Ulcerate and Gorguts.

Word.
Not sure how I feel about the new Entombed... Their first 2 albums were absolute god-tier, Wolverine Blues was pretty good, but everything since just wasn't to my liking... idk. :S It's been a good year so far so who knows.

Bit of shameless familial promotion but my brother just finished off his debut solo record. Black metal towards the more progressive end of that scale, with sprinklings of other genres.
Free download too, although if you feel it's worth any money you can also chip in.
IKEA is that friendly shop where you get cheap furniture from the inside of a giant, unending warehouse. Black metal is the kind of music that sounds like someone screaming while trapped inside a burning church. They each possess a fervent fan base. And to tell you the truth, the names of the furniture in IKEA sound a lot like the names of black metal bands. Consider this quiz an educational way to learn the difference between the two. It doesn’t matter if you know who Burzum is or if you’ve ever sat in a Preben chair – it’s time to have some kvlt fun. Death to false furniture!
Would also love some recommendations should I have missed anything, I went through artist by artist and listened to all they had and added only the songs that I liked which currently stands at 840 with plenty of variety.

Some of those aren't melodeath, no matter how you look. But well, here some of the bands you may enjoy. Didn't check for all of them, but your list contains mostly mainstream so I doubt I would find those way less known bands. ! marks exceptionally good stuff in my opinion.
Allegaeon - Fragments of Form and Function (!) Avatar - Avatar Be'lakor - Stone's Reach Blind Stare - Symphony of Delusions Blood Stain Child - Mozaiq Dark Flood - Still Liberty Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion (!) Eluveitie - Slania Enter Chaos - Aura Sense Eternal Tears of Sorrow - A Virgin and a Whore Eucharist - Mirrorworlds G∀LMET - Hellmet Gates of Ishtar - At Dusk and Forever (!) Gormathon - Lens of Guardian In Slumber - Scars: Incomplete Incarnia - Proclamation Lost Eden - Cycle Repeats Mercenary - 11 Dreams Mors Principium Est - The Unborn (!) Some of the bands may be borderline, sure, but they're all melodic death or close enough. Just out of curiosity which would you consider not to be?
Some of the bands you list, is already in my playlist but I will look over the rest. Thanks a lot for such a long list.
Edit: I'm happy you mention Eluveitie - Slania which while I already have it it's the only good thing they made imo. The other albums just don't compare.
So I've been finding myself listening to the new Sabbath album lately and really loving it, any suggestions for similar albums? I've pretty much got the whole back catalogue of Sabbath on my Spotify now!
So I've been listening to a lot of death/thrash hybrid bands recently, and I've been liking what I've been hearing, so much so that I want to see if I can get into some straight thrash. I'd use MoP's mega-thrash compilation, but I tend to prefer newer stuff. I've been spoiled on crystal-clear new millenium audio quality, unfortunately. Another major obstacle would be vocals. I nearly always prefer bands with lower-pitched vocals and downright hate high-pitched stuff like Kalmah or the handful of Kreator songs I've touched. Anyone have any recommendations that fit the bill?

I don't know if you can simultaneously enjoy thrash metal and not like Kreator.
One band you might like--although more tech death than straight out thrash--is Necrophagist:
You might also like a few songs by Orange Goblin who have a bit of a thrash-influenced sound in a lot of their stuff
The problem with your request is that asking for "pure thrash" is going to get you bands like Exodus and Kreator; and if you don't enjoy songs like Piranha or Pleasure to Kill then I really don't know where to tell you to go in this subgenre outside of maybe Slayer.

Here's some heavily trash influenced death metal sounds like exactly what you're after:

It's not that I hate the songs, the vocals are the part that get to me. As an example, I like listening to Kalmah despite the vocals because of the amazing guitar work.
