Maybe they wouldn't take them if they weren't in TI, but then if Liquid had just holed up in their base or moved around as 5 constantly EG would have split push them to death. OTOH if RTZ hadn't tried to get as much farm as possible he never would have been a threat to the CK.

People thought this was a sloppy game?

Apparently.

I thought it was mostly pretty impressively tight; the only moment I thought was at all throw-y was EG giving the rapier back with that teamfight fuck-up.

I thought the LGD-OG was significantly more sloppy than this game. Here you just had both teams playing to their draft's strengths, looking for openings but neither team giving any. I think if anyone wants to call a game sloppy this is one of the last ones to do so.

??
how can some random people in a lr thread call the upper bracket final of TI "sloppy"
wtf do u people even understand about whats going on lmao

Did you watch the games? lol

You had cores not using BKB, running off alone into high ground dying, teams just forcing fights randomly not playing around their timings, etc.

Didn't you know? All these teams suck and the winner will be the one who sucks least.

There's also more perceived sloppiness because teams force fights super, super hard sometimes now (even when they know they'll lose it at first) because they know they have a bb advantage. OG vs EG game 3 at dire bot shrine was a really good example. It might've looked like they were just randomly feeding at first, but they wiped EG with mass BBs and it won them the game.

Also the game's just a lot harder and messier than a few years ago. So many more items, so many high-impact abilities. It's usually impossible now to plan out fights the way Big God did at DAC, there are just too many variables.

edit: I do think group stages were super sloppy though, but teams got a lot better once they got comfortable with what they were playing.

There's also the issue of the viewer being able to see everything at once while the teams have very limited information.

It trades evenly with Viper and is a hard counter to TB.

he says it does damage and can hold its own in the lane vs viper. Plus destroys illusions from Terrorblade.

Yours faithfully, me

Hey pal, I've had a rough week too and an EG victory tonight would make everything much better.

Cheers.

You can have the EG win today if I get LGD tomorrow!

I wish I could say "deal!" because that'd be nice... But I'd be lying XD. I want Sumail to be the first to win two TI's more than anything else in Dota.

it's a fight to the death then

So be it! En garde and all that!
