Guess first match VP will let VGJ getting lunar to estimate how much they can handle China Lunar and VGJ will testify VP sk better or newbee kaka's
|
I'm predicting the trend of China will never win a major will hold
|
i want sylar to win something so going for VG
|
nice i managed to get back in time after hiking just to watch the championship (also my expected finals)
hopefully VG.J pulls throught right now there are so many teams that are incredibly competitive that if they prevent VP from becoming a juggernaut pre-TI .. the upcoming TI will be amazing to how many teams can take the championship but none is the favorite
|
I love Sunsfan on the panel, the guy is a straight shooter.
|
Anyone in here thinking VG.J can take more than one game off of Virtus Pro? They had a great run, for sure, but i do think VP outclasses them in pretty much any category, so the only thing they might have a slight advantage over VP could be "momentum". WItch Vp has a lot of aswell.
Predicting onesided and boring finals!

To me they seem predictable and not flexible or versatile enough to battle VP, so yeah I agree that VP outclasses them in every category. We will see, it can probably go either ways if VGJ have a good day and are on the roll, but to me it seems that VP will just crush them.

imagine having tobi and capitalist available to cast a grand finals but then getting these two
lmao

is this for real? maut casting finals

VGJ haven't dewarded the mid ward they clearly saw Solo place. That's a massive misplay, actually. No reason you should let the opponent have wards you know about.

Solo had 3 wards in inventory, they might have not clicked on him before he placed it and when they saw 2 they could've assumed that he didn't place a ward there. Just my guess, or it might be a misplay.

Chubbycopter is to good!
On a more serious note - give NoOne the MVP of this tournament allready, the guy is just so fucking on top of the game currently! Incredible performance!

He is the best mid player by far right now.

VP has been winning throughout the bracket almost all but their mid-game warding. Their dedication to it beyond 20 minutes in the game is the reason they're in the finals and looking to take game 1.

Completly agree!
I think his DP in game 3 vs Liquid was one of the deciding factors why they are here in the Grandfinals!

VP are such an entertaining team when they hit their stride, cores capable of playing anything from any angle.
|
VGJT really doesn't seem to have any space to do anything. Always feels like VP heroes are wrapping around behind them whenever they try to farm a lane
|
It's pretty incredible how much pressure VP exerts with Bfury jugg, gyro and tiny as cores.
|
|
That was one of the cleanest strategic taking of a rax you'll ever see. Dang.
|
Does Yang even play brew? Use tornado EVER please.

VP is mass warding starting around 10 minutes. The entire point is to take all of the team fights from 10 min to 20 min, which they can then snowball to a victory.
|
has sylar used eclipse once in this game ?
On March 11 2018 21:41 Wintex wrote: Does Yang even play brew? Use tornado EVER please.
and this too. vg do not seem playing dota there. regardless of vp aggresion, there is no excuse of cheap chain feeding for constant 20 minutes and misusing skills in every teamfight
|
He has, but the two heroes close by got protected by snowball.

absolutelydisgusting.jpeg Not particularly close. I feel like this was the game where both teams test it out and give each other what the want. And VP just ROLLED over VGJ.
|
VP so good. Here's hoping it won't be a 3-0 stompy games.

It's not only that but they also have a really good understanding of what they can do when they show a hero pushing a lane themselves and how they should move with the other heroes to cut the enemy off. For example they have Jugg pushing mid lane to the T2 but the other heroes are moving really deep to catch VGJT if they try to take even one wave on some other lane.
Of course the wards are often needed so you see the enemy going there but not every team can also move fast enough through the right routes to not feed any kills and get constant pickoffs
|
Seems like the meta this tournament was a lot about these midgame carry heroes, with most teams content to pick up 1-2 of them. But somehow VP was allowed to pick all 3 of the top (IMO), Jugg, Tiny, Gyro. Brew and Luna can't compete. They also have 2 of the best aggressive supports that you can't escape. Honestly this seems like the most meta draft possible from VP
|
Solution for VGJ is to remove one of Tusk or Disruptor. And probably not having an offlaner that does nothing at all.
|
Czech Republic18921 Posts
Noone really seems to like the camera, haha. He's just like 'ye, I know another boring Gyro game'
|
The plow has been activated! Guys don't try to analyze meta and stuff, VP are just on another level.
|
i will be extremely mad if VGJT keep being second place for the rest of season but eventually wininng TI

It's not only that, but it's the change VP has made in this Meta to get a decisive advantage. They're also rotating most of the team any time there is a gank attempt, as they have so much of the map visible that they know where the other team is the entire time. VP should have lost Game 2 against Optic and Game 3 against Liquid, but the warding to setup their movement allowed them to come back really hard.
However, there isn't an easy counter, unless the Offlaner goes 2nd item Gem.
|
How do you ban against VP. Terrorblade, Gyro, DP,Sandking,Disruptor,Chen,Kunkka.

I think VP win the second game now, in the third they do some stupid clowny shit draft and lose. And then they win the last one.
|
Liquid should learn a thing or two from VP. They had aegis and they knew they were ahead. They still kept pushing with ageis juggy at the front but they did not overextend even willing to let the aegis expired but they did still pressure the opponents.

You can't really say that because not so long ago Liquid was another level team, and VP were known as Virtus.Throw because they had amazing early - mid game in almost every game and managed to throw their advantage by overextending.
Although I am very impressed by new Virtus.Pro, ever since Rodjer got in the team, they are still playing that aggressive style that they are loved for but can play very patient game when it is needed.

TB has to go base, because the courier snipe. that's rough.

i swear zyori just says words because they sound good and have no relevance to the game he's "casting"

damn nice spur of the moment thinking by ramzes.

Agree! Not sure why people complain about Maut when they have zyori casting...
|
so morph is now rubick with physical dps and better skills inventory ?
|
Damn, didn't think about it, but Morph has so many good targets for ulti here, like all of enemy heroes are amazing. He doesn't even need EBlade, just Morph Pugna, use Decrep + Blast, change to Morph and disintegrate someone. Disruptor for easy Glimpse + Kinetic Field, DK to lower TBs damage and 3 sec stun, ET for lowering TB's armor to 0, and TB for counter Reflection, that also provides his team with ET's aura, it's really good actually.
|
VP are so freaking good... picking Rodjer was the missing piece to make them an unstoppable juggernaut
|
|
definite 3-0. vgjt's mental fortitude is as strong as goldfish.
|
that was such a bad fight i cant believe vgj beat newbee.
|
seems it will be a short dota day ... i miss the small final
|
if sylar used bkb and tb had bkb instead of lance/manta, they could still kill dp

Not 3-0. I think this next game VP picks something dumb like a dazzle carry, or a slar and lose. Then they get an easy win for a 3-1.
|
|
still think vp can win 3-0 even with cm carry and slark support. vg just crumble in final.

So far every single one of these manager horror stories so perfectly fit with Moonmeander's old rant about Miracle being an odd guy to cater for.

This event has been the least interesting/exciting dota tourney I think I've ever seen. Definitely the least interesting major. One good game in the entire tournament, the TNC v VGJ thunder bo1

EG vs Liquid, Liquid vs OG were fun, too.

No meme pick from VP, instead a Brood. I couldn't be more disappointed.

I think that this is over, VGJ is way too predictable with their lanes and keep spamming Luna that is so easy to shut down.

yang has been abysmal for entire series

VGJ seems very tilted. This game is gonna be faster than the previous 2. Wouldn't be surprised by a sub 20-minute gg.

5 minutes, 4k lead, gg.
Sylar dies wherever he goes just as I thought, DP needs items, Bat is destroyed mid. It's over.

as easy as playing against AI easy in wc3 dota

715 gold bounty at 9 minutes for killing the Brood.

how did brood run down that cliff? she was taking damage from flamebreak as well as firefly.

Holy fuck, Rodjer is so on point with this ES... saving Pasha before with the kick was amazing as well.

Since Brood changes where she isn't invisible in the web anymore, she always have unobstructed pathing, which is why she is almost autowin when last picked into lineup with no counters.
|
can we just forbid Chinese teams in the finals?
|
On March 11 2018 23:25 Archeon wrote: how did brood run down that cliff? she was taking damage from flamebreak as well as firefly.
this isn't how brood works anymore. She doesn't go invis but does always have free pathing inside her webs.
in 7.07
Spin Web No longer grants invisibility with a 2 second fade delay. No longer loses free pathing or halves movement speed upon taking player/Roshan based damage.
|
|
thanks, noticed the invis but kinda overread the flying movement change
|
VP are just 2 tiers above VG.J
|
yang ran aimlessly during that fight
|
|
Really glad I didn't bother to wake up early to watch the first two games

Chinese doto looks kinda bad nowadays

VP New Kings of Majors !!!

that was a prime example of having an easy bracket. vg.j were not even close to being a threat to VP.

Some throws in the last game, but this was still an incredibly dominant performance by VP.

Not really, they just tend to get stomped in the finals

I am really glad that meta changes are ahead, in a hindsight this kind of major was really unnecessary (Swiss System + Dark Willow marketing ploys).
|
The crowd was amazing, cheering for both teams/good plays and in the 3rd game cheering mostly for VG for sports. Positive energy by the crowd

And here i come hoping to catch some games live or at least get exciting vods for watching. Ohh well, maybe next time...

China Dota almost get into final for every Tournament, for the late few tournament
ESL Genting : Newbee (Champion) ESL Katowice: Vici (first runner up) This time: VGJ (first runner up)
How can this to be considered as "bad"? What i see is China Dota is very competitive, any team can be in final

as it should be. EU have more players, more tournaments, more teams, more $$
Then TI comes and China will trash everyone.
