It isn't but this was the tournament where EG had the arguably the worst results against the chinese (which is why it's used by lolfail as a counter argument to the fact that they used to do very well) and they still did fine. A month after that they beat every Chinese team at WEC and didnt lose a series against them apart from VG until TI5. And even after that Ehome is the only team to beat them in an elimination match until the Manila major. On the other hand they kept getting the short hand against Secret and struggled against CIS teams more than they should (or had better results against Chinese teams than they should depending on your point of view). | ||

I think part of their success was that LGD, VG, nb, CDEC used to draft very similarly in between series (and apart from TI5 CDEC, similarly to each other). Looking back the teams EG had the hardest time beating are the ones doing weird shit (lanm DK, Ehome, black VG), and Wings and Nb definitely don't play the same way and do wonky drafts, especially Wings. Same with Mvp. | ||
