Then what exactly is the purpose of picking such a ridiculously disadvantaged draft? To show off? Alliance played well, but I'm not convinced that they showed any particular understanding of Newbee more than just capitalizing on sloppy mistakes.

NB seems to be a team that took being more at the fights to heart. Probably much more to it than that but if you pick somebody off fast and have everybody there NB loses the fights badly since they will reinforce. Can't analyse more regarding them, lack understanding.

Everyone makes mistakes; what's important is what mistakes did they make and why? I think the top fight early game lost Newbee the early game. Why did they lose that fight? Because they all came in the moment one of their heroes was caught, even though Alliance was set up all around. That's how they play, and Alliance saw it coming. Also you have to look at what heroes Newbee was winning with earlier in the tournament and how few of them they have this game.

For Alliance, it's as much about getting Newbee off of the heroes they want to play on, than playing heroes that are the best against their strategy.
