I don't think there is any potential for VP this game to pull off a surprise teamfight win. The only thing that would turn the game is Aui/Sumail going alone and getting picked off but they are just walking around together.

It wasn't a mistake. It's just the unfortunate result of the churn of the tournament scene & the post-Major Shuffle.

Newbee was a better team, but Valve has staked out a "What have you done on LAN?" position (quite logically). So it's more just annoying.

I really hope the Fall Major has 20 or 24 spots, though. That'd be really good.

Like I said it's an invitational LAN. Having mediocre results in that should means nothing, but Valve doesn't realise that. Having mediocre results in a normal LAN is totally different, since you are already the top few teams in the world when you went through qualifiers.

If you're not going manta octarine, you really shouldn't get radiance. Eg's heroes doesn't give a shit about burn damage.

I feel like this exact thing happens in every EG game. Against the top teams, Sumail feeding inexplicably like that 2-3 times per game is a deciding factor.

Not sure about the logic in your argument, more what lies there, that you don't mention.

2(3 actually) Chinese teams winning Lans and OG winning a major doesn't complicate anything. They paint themselves into this corner because they realize that EG, Secret made significant changes that makes them look like dogshit for quite a while, and meanwhile they are pushing for more NA teams, more SEA teams... and ultimately catering to a CIS team that did alright for a few weeks. They have understandably a hard time figuring out which teams will actually be any good come Manila, because outside MVP there has been little consistency.

They were not keen on inviting much less Chinese teams, and fortunately they didn't really have to, since the Chinese won some tournaments this year.

Against pro-teams, smoke makes it impossible for avoid every ganks. That is why there is a limited number of them.
