Meanwhile empire have been playing everything they can since their roster shuffle, and while not looking great against other teams that have been playing everything they can (navi for example), they stomped secret yesterday and won against them today again. Two years ago teams were complaining they were playing too much, and now there are teams that barely play anymore. I'm curious to see EG play as well, because they are doing the exact same thing as secret. Hope teams realise not playing online qualifiers/tournaments might be bad for them and decide to play more.

It is not that RTZ is a selfish player, or EE is the same, but their strengths lie in optimizing farm. If they have to compensate through being more active earlier, you are removing their strengths, and if you play into their strengths, you need to have people suffering to create space for them, and only PLD can fill that role, as a pos 6 support. PPY and Universe are also more efficient if they are getting farm and space. The problem is the composition of the players.I'm not sure how adding RTZ made him pick naix WW. They added RTZ and universe, and in that game they drafted BM/OD. Those are misery/w33 heroes too, they're just heroes Secret likes to use. I see Secret's loss on puppey and not the new additions. Misery had a wider pool, and was more active earlier, than Universe. W33, although not optimal, could be somewhat sacrificed, but RTZ or EE can't.

Maybe that's the case, but its certainly not an excuse or evidence that w33 sucks. Here's another example: Dendi is always babysat, yet NaVi wins their lanes almost all the time man.

Also the thousands of youngsters who don't make it in real sports and end up under graduated after spending their youth is training center is just sad.

Its not the end of the world, but unless there is still a tournament to be announced and played before the major they will only have epicenter to play before the major. And with a new patch coming this lack of competitive play could be even worse. But I hope they improve, they have all the tools to be the best team in the world.

Majors are big fun yeah but the gap in prize money is just to big. I understand their reasoning, but competitive play is still the best way to practice. Its like this in every sport and esport. Scrims and pubs are just not the same thing.

Teams having a mindset that not playing is better, which is not, and on top of that, some of puppey's drafts and strategies are really off the meta. Sure, I'm all for strange strats and playstyles, this makes the game more fun and complex, but how you're supposed to make odd strategies work if you don't have practice? I will also add: - It's not only the lack of competitive games, there's also a trend in teams and players favoring playing pubs instead of scrims. There are several interviews / talk shows attesting to that. - The competition is much, much harder nowadays.

These guys must have some super good paychecks, winning tournaments its more about ego than anything else. Doubt puppey and co are in manilla for the money. They are to show they are good and can win, at some point money its just and afterthoughr, messi and cr7 dont play for money they play to be the best. Sure aome other teams do care about money, but not Secret, compared to normal dota 2 players, these guys are rich just by contracts

No, imagine getting fired from a job right after succeeding and winning a huge contract and not having any chance to have any further success for the project. And having very limited time before finding a new job before you run out of time to register your new company with the IRS. And if you miss the deadline, you are at a massive disadvantage and proceed to get fucked by life. Not a perfect analogy but I think you get what I'm trying to say. After what happened to W33, a little gloating is fine. It's a sport, trash talk is normal in sports.

But in terms of 3rd game I agree, I didn't like Secret's lineup at all. Though I don't particularly like just flaming the drafter as if the other players are not suggesting heroes, but in that game the draft was definitely the issue.

I think most people would agree that w33 is a great player that deserves to be on a tier 1 team, firing him 4 days before roster locks was basically Secret ending his year right there and then, because almost all good teams had completed their rosters at that point. This decision by Secret wouldn't have received such backlash if they informed w33 about their decision like 1-2 wees earlier that will give him time to find another team. If you want to blame someone, you gotta blame universe and arteezy for that. They agreed on joining Secret only so close to the deadline.
