There is this whole thing with broadcasting rights/control of competition. ect Blizzard made the mistake with SC: BW and didn't see a dime from KeSPA/OGN/MBC until SC2.

There is already Local Host mode in Dota 2. Only the in game tickets is stopping tournaments from using it. They can easily stream on Twitch and similar services using it.

This is probably the first Major invite set that the top 4 are the only assured invites. So that's Team Secret, Team Liquid, EG and MVP.P. OG should eat up an invite because they won Frankfurt. I think the other 3 invites are simply up for grabs for who does well at the tournaments between. Expect at least 1 Chinese Invite, as there is a Chinese LAN here soonish. Plus we have ESL Manila.

I dont think there was anything run with that on reborn. in source 1 it showed the game being live in the tournament tab but it was only available as replay once the game finished

If there was no in game watch option I don't see why they would be using the official servers for LAN tournaments. So for the LAN setting to be usable on LAN would require some option to connect it to Dota TV.
