man is csgo commentary always so negative?

i think you can't go full lumi cause you get flamed by reddit and pros

only pros have the license to go full negative in casting doto 2

idk who the pros are on this panel besides thorin isn't.

I had to mute it because they jumped from one negative topic (x team sucks, their new roster sucks, these players suck, they are all just waiting for a better team, they have no chemistry) to the next for like 10 minutes. Maybe dota2 it's easier to focus on the metagame instead of shitting on every player/team to fill time.

idk, that seems like a poor excuse

even if you decide you want to talk exclusively about the players in dota2, you can always find ways to spin it positively: here, let me demonstrate

na'vi get knocked out in group stages -> na'vi is improving slowly but surely with their new roster, and took wins off of some strong teams before being eliminated against this very strong competition

eg always open their drafts the same way -> eg have found a very flexible way of drafting this patch, and are really focusing on keeping their options open while they wait to react to their opponents' drafts

vp loses to vega and gets knocked out -> vega came in with a very strong showing, and this will probably encourage vp to step their game up in preparation for shanghai

col, wings, and spirit get shat on -> the world scene is seeing a lot of new teams right now, and it's exciting to see all this new professional growth going on, let's watch and see how they all do in upcoming events

ee feeds -> ee's trademark aggression sometimes leads to overextension, but can lead to some thrilling games to watch

mmy keeps picking a broken hero icefrog pls halp -> mmy has put in a lot of time and effort adapting to the new meta, and his hard work is really showing in these games

and so on, it's not fucking difficult to be positive about these things, I was an old liquid fan for chrissake, they were a walking disaster

these csgo chumps are just being toxic debbie downers and showing the kind of professional commentary you'd expect from those DEPRESSING fucks who mope around 24/7 and make your life generally worse by their incessant moping hell yes I'm salty

That's Thorin's thing. He's incredibly, aggressively negative. If he's not belittling everyone that's not a close personal friend, he's being nice. At least Slacks took his treatment in stride.

Thats Thorin tho, he is all about derailed hype trains, he knows neativity sells A LOT more than positive stuff

I didnt see the panel but if i had to guess Maniac and fifflaren were in there ? might be the only 2 ex pro players

oh wow, how do people even put up with that? that sounds just painful and not fun, I mean it's fine to criticize and not everything should be sparkles and bubbles but if negativity is all there is, why the fuck do you want anything to do with it?

but then again I'm the kind of person who turns off a dota2 stream the second the streamer starts complaining regardless of whether it's justified

also that round that G2 won, that was impressive, I could see they were really working for that win

As someone who like watches CS:GO for the first time.

Holy crap, Bo30 maps and Bo3 matches?

That will last fucking eternity.

Preceeded by a full hour of setting up. Can't wait to see how long it takes them to switch back to Dota after this.

I played a lot of CS in the old days - but, c'mon - you just can't watch this ...

It is painfully unspectator friendly!

all right, question for csgo fans: is it very difficult to bring the map back from situations where you're down a lot of sets? or is it reasonable to start 0-5 and end up winning? I don't know how to interpret anything except as "fnatic is hugely favored to win"

Well at most a map can take its 115+20 seconds per round, so about 65 minutes per map, but thats a map that got into 15-15

G2 is playing incredibly fast with zero coordination, this isn't really good CS

Fnatic is beating the shit out of em because of that.

Not quite. Round time is max 1min45 sec. 30 rounds max. Meaning 1 map will be played at maximum 52min30sec. But in case that the score will be 15:15 there will be overtime...
I've watched lots of CS 1.6 and CSGO matches and usually 1 map lasts about 25 minutes. A BO3 will take about 1 hour to end. So, in about 1h45-2h we will have our next dota2 match

depends on the map, a lot of maps are super sided for one side.

For example, 11-4 its a "not-so-good" score for the T side on Cache, i dont think it will be enough (depends on the pistol round).

They are better aimers as well (Fnatic) , the only way they (G2) have any chance is by doing wacky things

I played lotsa 1.6 and watched so many tournaments (fnatic 2007 never forget), why do you say this is less spectator friendly? If anything I think many things have improved the spectator experience in CSGO, though I like the gameplay much less.

Pause timing, post round time(~5s/round?).

can take quite a bit actually.
