thats what they said happened this year

then west got facerolled by chinese at TI

again.

Na actually improved, EU is the one stuck in the mud. I would say CIS improved also.

also unlike last year where everybody could see the chinese dominated TI incoming .. this year isn't like that cause the few tournaments before TI was mostly western won

I thought it was because it's an odd numbered year.

wel that works too outside the chinese owning most of the year

this is supposed to be the year of the west now it's all on EG's hands

chinese teams have not been winning tournaments with non-chinese tournaments in 6.84

Most recent patch introduced an item called Octarine Core that allows casters like Leshrac to scale better lategame.
Leshrac in particular can become nigh-immortal with Octarine thanks to his mass AoE damage.
On top of that, all the buffs to Lightning Storm over the past several patches have made Leshrac's laning phase and farming ability extremely strong.

i honestly think the bloodstone buffs are more consequential than the addition of octarine

They built BKBs. Once they had BKBs the game was over really, nothing on VP could deal with them (even if there was a miracle grip there was almost 0 damage) and rax were easy enough.

Bounty helped a lot too.

Lesh takes a long time to kill tanky heroes and the rest of VPs line up was made of glass. CM is really hard to play against bounty and PL too.

Hence why the CK ban was genius in retrospect. Imagine having to face that tanky fucker warping around the battlefield while VP's supports get free reign.

Next year will be cool because I think there will be no invites any longer, only points based on major placements and an open qualifier for wildcards

More or less Octarine core made him a popular pick

also magic in general is more viable with the massive BKB change (can't but a new 10 second one) which is very important lategame.

VP simply got outdrafted.

But at least good news is, Leshrac might not get nerfed.

I'm a dirty pony picker. Hero is too versatile and good in pubs as well.

Can play as mid, safe, or support and still own. Might even work in dual offlane lanes.

I think zero chance Lesh doesn't get nerfed. Pros have a direct line to the Frog and I am pretty sure it's unanimous that the hero is too good.

yeah I think that last ban CK was real good, I actually think VP would just crush them with CK (they didn't have much to deal with CK illusions that game really).

Guys remember. Even if America wins the money goes to China. In the end China win the money regardless of the outcome.

It's not our fault the Chinese apparently don't understand what we do to acronyms. In our language.

i will spend that 4k gold on hex any other day than on that octarino core

that said, western teams have some strong resistance to buy hex since 2011

yeah, and lesh was affected by an collective of changes over the year, not one patch. anyone wondering about meta shifts and are seasonal TI viewers wouldn't know that change and it's a large impact
