that said, yay rave cdec could also just have won against tongfu. i'll take obvious statements that don't really add anything for 800 alex Any system past W/L is going to be luck based on your draw, or a stupid number that could be gamed.
Considering it was second round of Tiebreakers and it only happened because TongFu didn't win consecutive games, I'd say it's entirely forgivable.

tournament organizers don't know how to pick good 1v1 rules, more news at 11

unless you want endless tiebreakers there have to be a way to decide who is gonna advance that derives from the games already played. personally i would rather see the difference in kills as the important metric (as i would say a game where you win with a huge difference in kills is in general more onesided than a game where you win in 20minutes), but timerating is fine too.

thats no difference to endless tiebreakers. teams can just go 1:1:1 for ages.

still the best measure on who should proceed

yeah but doesnt solve the problem at all

Kills is still an indirect manner of determining which team is better. Straight up downing the throne faster is more direct. To me time rating is kind of like the penalty shootout of Dota (subpar for determing the best team but doesn't need both teams to keep playing).
Then again you could go out like this: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/31047060

how about having a constant rather than having everything else variable? like, have them play the next lowest ranked team (ie 11th in this case) whoever loses is eliminated, whichever team wins (if ever 2 teams win) they get to play each other and whichever team wins gets to advance.
but that still counts on having one team lose vs the 11th ranked team as well as further hassling the 11th ranked team lol

This makes the 11th ranked team play more games than they should. Why should they play more games when they're already qualified?

I wonder why they are rushing this 1v1 tournament, playing more than 1 match at a time

yeah i edited it in right before i saw your reply. it doesn't really affect the 11th ranked team, but it still depends if they're willing to do that for the sake of avoiding possible endless tiebreakers.
so yeah, a possible solution for tiebreakers but still wouldn't justify itself lol

They might try for the first game and then get bored and screw the next two games.
