Upper Bracket seems a lot more stacked. EG, C9 and Alliance actually have a results in this patch. Lower Bracket is just VG. Team Secret is purely hype right now, and only from EU group stage results.

Although all 4 quarter finals have a clear favorite, it will be interesting to see if someone can make an upset or at least provide a good fight. The format of the event and the fact that the patch is new and teams have had limited practice time on it improves the chance of some favorite dropping out first round. You only need to be make some mistake at a crucial moment and a game might snowball out of hand, or you get surprised in the draft, and suddenly you might be facing elimination.

They won nvidia's event (beating EG in bo5) and got 2nd in two chinese LANs. Secret is only dominating if you literally only care about win percent.

Of course they had convincing wins over teams like c9 and TT in SL, but those were bo1 and sometimes stuff happens in the draft or a game that can make a game look very onesided and it doesn't necessarily mean that the winning team is consistently superior. There's simply not much worthwhile data to say they are definitely better or worse than c9 for example.

TS has had no convincing wins while C9 has had a LOT. TS shouldn't be on anyone's "strongest team" radar until they actually play bo3's against strong teams in tournaments. I actually am a fan of all of TS's roster, but just don't understand how people can rate a team highly when they've essentially just won some bo1's against only a few good teams in online qualifiers. LiquidDota's article did well to put TS behind C9, but I'd put TS 4th strongest behind VG too. A lot of potential with essentially no convincing results.

Well imo they can be up there when you consider the strongest teams just because the uncertainty is still so large. I agree that one can't really make the case that they are definitely a title contender, but it's hard to say that they aren't close to that either at this point. Secret has performed well online this far, but it also sort of makes sense that they would. They are a new team, people are playing new roles, and haven't yet been to LAN together. This all imo makes it easier for them also to concentrate properly to online games, whereas teams like c9 are known for their inconsistency especially online, and even EG has had some pretty questionable games online. Some people also might have actually watched and analyzed Secret's games to have a proper opinion about their performance results aside. Personally I haven't really watched their games that closely, so it's pretty hard to predict how well they'll actually do.
