I think it was the opposite , because every one knew that you must ban NP/IO , they had draft advantage as they could secure the meta best heroes, thats why ppl gave them a good chance to get into the playoffs (at least) , but as it turned out , they still dont play the meta heroes properly (never pick Tide offlane is crazy) , also i think they shouldve went with Naga against the weaker teams and try and play late game dota .(only picked her once).
Ravensong170 , i usually disagree with wuhan... but this time i cant agree with everyone knowing alliance going to be out in the group stages... 10 teams progressing is a BIG numebr with a starting of 16 ......
i really believed they had something to counter or use in this meta as they knew every game what will be banned against them..... dissapointed , almost stopped watchin TI i must admit....

Keep in mind that Alliance had an extremely bad record against Asian teams this year. They have match deficits against iG, DK, VG and Newbee despite last year's insane record. If you're coming into the group stages with a huge mentality/meta disadvantage against half of the teams (as well as the possibility of dropping games to Western teams), then prospects of going far in the tournament are small.

actually the OD pick is pretty damn good. Natural BKB carrier and also saves the poor sap who gets caught by skywrath/sandking.

There's no way C9 stay together. EE said he's gonna disappear from dota after TI for a while, Aui has always seemed like he only played support temporarily, and sing basically said anyone not in top 3 are going to disband. ye, same for me, i never heard him say he's gonna disappear. he said he'll take like a 2 week break to go to japan with lumi, but that's it. and they have every reason to stay together after this TI. 6th place is pretty good, if anyone has to disband/break up it's gonna be navi, ig, fnatic, not c9.

I also just don't see them reforming in another team. Maybe bone7, but AUI/EE are really good friends and Sing's found his niche with this team. I think they genuinely like each other

Somehow I don't think sing's niche is carrying a t2 carry to top 8 at TI.

honestly it's the western scene that really bashes on envy. EE is actually really well respected by the Chinese and you can't deny how much of an impact he's had on this team whether it's through drafting/strategy or just through assembling the players. People forget how "bad" Sing looked before he joined Kaipi and how Aui almost wanted to retire. EE farms really well for the way C9 plays in that they sacrifice him a lot of times so the others can get farm. Also top 8 at this TI was incredibly hard. (something Alliance couldn't do) and he was integral in several of the matches. (The last meepo match, his doom was on point and won them several teamfights along with bone7)

It's easy to figure out how good a carry is, just make an imaginary all star team and see how many people you'd take over envy.

What an absurdly dumb thing to say. So any player who has a unique style that only fits with their team can never be a top tier 1 player? Every 1 player is just competing to be the best am / pl in an imaginary generic standard style team? PLEASE......

Stop hating on envy he does shit that's AMAZING, his motivation, his dedication, how much he believes in himself, he's destined to be a champion. Just not this year. Now stop hating, we already fucking lost.
