If you want to focus on farming in the earlier game, you can max Dark Pact first and clear the jungle like a boss. Free life regen and cheap AoE is no joke.

his regen gets canceled if he's hit by a neutral

So? You regen to full while walking to the next camp.

at what level do you mean ? not at lvl 6...

It takes like 5(?) seconds to regen to full after clearing a neutral camp. Especially with level 4 Dark Pact.

I think there's something else that might have been different in game 2 as opposed to game 1.

Merlini build on gyro.

5 seconds regen is 15% hp at level 6. That's more or less how much hp you lose when clearing one neutral camp.

Regen form almost dead to full with lvl 1 ult should be around 30 seconds. Neutral damage disables regen for 2 seconds according to dota2wiki. I've tried it, at lvl 6 slark will have to spend some time idle in jungle and waiting for regen. Also maxing dark pact for farm has its disadvantages, notably you will loose more hp than necessary if you just want to dispell something, which really matters in the early game when you get ganked.

15% is about how much you lose just from casting nuke at lvl 6 and at ~3 armor and ~600 hp you are going to lose a lot more from the neutral atacks

I don't know what else to tell you man... If you're having problems with hp farming neutrals as slark, you must be doing something wrong.
