First day of western qualifiers, and i'm already tired and feel like i've been watching Dota for a week straight. So much fail.

Players seriously need to be penalized for constant disconnects. Each team should have a maximum of 30 minutes pause time between games and 10 minutes in each respective game. Numbering the pauses is idiotic. If your player disconnects mid-game you wait that time and if he cannot connect you lose. If he disconnects in the lobby, you have that time (30 minutes) to find a stand-in.

It costs tournaments viewers to be sitting around in uncertainty as another player disconnects with very little details given to the spectators. It's a players responsibility to have working internet as it is the vehicle of eSports. If I'm a delivery driver, it's my responsibility if my car breaks down.

Don't use terrible analogies to try prove a point. You always have the ability to fix the car, they don't have that ability. It's a lose lose situation.

Ah, you can fix a car? I can't. So, I go to the mechanic and he tells me it's fixed, but I have no idea. Then, I find out he did a shitty job and my car doesn't work while I'm at "work." I'm held responsible.

However, I do understand how to fix my internet connection, but I'm assuming most players don't. Same situation they call their ISP or someone else to fix it for them. It's the same principle. You have to find a reliable ISP and/or understand how to fix problems yourself.

My point stands without the analogy I figured I'd help some people along with that. I guess analogies are hard things to understand sometimes.

so you get a mechanic you trust? if you are playing as a professional player your computer/internet connection should be incredibly important to you. You should be doing everything you can to secure them.

I might be completely wrong, but I think you're actually making his point, which is that players should be held responsible in case their internet fails, even if it's not directly their fault, since delaying games for 1:30 because someone can't get online is highly detrimental to the tournaments.

Holy shit. Reading the thread from the get go and all the EG whine, bash whatever. I guess the match was interesting to watch. Now my brain hurt.
