Well, you also have to look at Na'Vi's draft those 3 games.
They were nearly identical. Aside from 1 hero. If Na'Vi managed to win against Alliance in such a way, I'd be VERY surprised. Puppey didn't change anything those 3 games, that made no sense to me at all.
Is anyone able to tell me why in gods name they choose to run basically the same thing 3 times in a row?

i just realized that Liquid haven't won a series against navi

coL/TL have never taken a series off them. It's a very bad matchup for some reason.

I don't understand why they are at such apalling times. Yes, it's a good time in China, but can't they play the game at a reasonable time and then just rebroadcast it a few hours later for China? This time is absolutely horrid for anywhere in the US.
Hell, if it is necessary to find a time that's okayish for everybody, compromise for China. Make it 5 hours later. That is getting late-ish evening in China, but still okay, while it is early morning in the US instead of middle of the night.

Also 5 hours later would mean that the second series is the middle of the night for them

I don't understand why they are at such apalling times. Because it's a Chinese tournament, there's no other reasoning that needs to be there. People want to watch live, so it will be live. They have time slots they want to hit, so they will hit those time slots. No one is forcing American teams to play in the tournament and I'd think they would sooner not have a western qualifier than have one that's not good for their own viewing audience.

This tournament's focus is China, so they disregard other time zones. Though it'd be convenient and nice for them to change their stream times, it'll ultimately hurt their home viewer numbers, which is mainly what their sponsors are looking at.
And this is the first time that a major Chinese tournament has invited so many foreigners to a qualifier, so I think we're already really lucky that they're even doing this at all. Sending 2 teams from out of the country with all expenses paid to a tournament that pays out even more money is amazing for Dota!

Oh, I agree that it is awesome that they are branching out and doing this. I love that there is some cross-over between west and east (outside of TI).
However, qualifiers outside of China also should consider timezones outside of China. I am also worried about their stream numbers: if they are disappointing from the international audience, there's a good chance because it's on in the middle of the night (or morning in Europe, which is also not the most popular time to watch games). I presume the reason they are even bothering inviting foreign teams is to try to capture some foreign audience (outside of the hardcore fans)?
But my main reason is because it's rather harsh on a team and their play probably suffers for it.

90k watched Na'Vi vs Alliance today, western streams only.
It is how it should be. European tournaments aren't at great times for Americans either, many are at work or school during match times.
