No, it's unproffesional to walk circles in your own jungle for 30 minutes because you don't have a game plan. They didn't try their best, they tried nothing at all... Ayesee did fine. They couldn't push because they instantly die. It was IG that sat back and did nothing. DK couldn't do anything and when they tried it flopped so went back to farming. IG then did nothing so DK tried it against 10 minutes later.

Must suck for the loser team now, only to play one another series later on today.

If there are no plays then you don't start whining about how the game is going so long and how your fucking feet hurt. As someone at home watching the cast, I don't need to hear that shit. At least Draskyll was trying to stay professional, talking about items and what each team COULD have done.

seriously, games like this are gonna be a huge turnoff for potential players... there should be a mechanism to prevent games going this way. This is DotA. 80+ minute games has been a part of this game for as long as the game itself has existed. If you take that away, you won't have DotA anymore. Actually, Icefrog's tried for years to make games shorter and NOT have these games happen. Buyback changes? Staggered TP channel times? Smoke? All of those changes were geared toward shifting the game away from these long games. HoN's solution was limiting each player to two buybacks which would probably make a bigger difference than any of those changes. That has too drastic an impact on earlier portions of the game.
Buyback is a very critical resource to making comebacks in DotA, the problem is when it gets to lategame where the gold loss of a buyback stops being punishing, and it's no longer a "resource".

I'm pretty sure it's more important for Valve that the people watching like their game, more than it is that someone gets a million.
Wish they'd remove a certain percentage of the prize money for that last game if either DK or IG win. And do the same to other teams waiting 20 mins before they even go look for a pick off.

The only reason they lost was because they didn't back after winning the huge roshan fight (and getting the rapier). If they had backed then everyone would be booing and whining even more. You should be thanking DK for ending such a "boring" game. I don't think so. Rapier did not make much of a difference. Burning was putting all his items on Bear, and the Bear just melts so fast. His hero's damage itself is negligible. If DK backed, we'd probably see 2-3 more rosh fights. They won a huge teamfight, wiping IG. They could have easily done it again, on the back on black hole. DK didn't have buyback because they had been wiped recently. If this was 2009 dota 1, they would have backed and waited another 5 minutes for buyback to come up. Then the game would have gone on from then, maybe lasting another 10 or 20 minutes. Both teams could have won it from then on. Them rushing in after that big fight with buybacks down was just a huge mistake, brought about by impatience or bad judgment.
My point exactly. They won the fight, they had extra gold advantage. Then they back and wait for the next fight, which is probably for the next Roshan. Then they might win that fight again, but then they will have to go back recover and it just repeats.
So yes they lost because they did not back. But they would not have won if they back either.

All of those changes were geared toward shifting the game away from these long games. I wonder, don't you feel like Buyback changes actually made late game even more unstable? It's just games don't tend to go that far anymore. It makes games in the 40-60 minute range more likely to end immediately because you can't defend high ground with double/triple buyback from a single hero. Repeated buybacks only help the defending team because the attacking team can only TP back into the fight once anyway, barring a few specific heroes. Don't you think limiting buyback will make the game overall more defensive, since teams will be pretty conservative with their buybacks rathern than taking an aggressive engage and relying on them? This is part of what I'm thinking. Late game is extremely volatile and not having a buyback cushion means teams just don't want to risk losing but at the same time in the past buybacks have caused more defensive nature games
What about just rapidly accelerating how quickly creeps get stronger after the 60-70 minute mark. Make them 5% better each wave or something, then something has to break.

So being unsure of what to do in a tough situation isn't allowed for the best teams in the world? Obviously both teams just did that to annoy the crap out of you, how silly to believe it might have been about winning TI3.

There are a couple of item pics that are odd... Were they the old models?

Fucking 60 min + game incoming

Burning bought double bkb but never used the one on his bear I think. With all respect to Burning, Bulldog would have won this game.

Just remove backdoor protection after a certain amount of time while increasing fortify cd once the game reaches a certain time.
