While I agree that watching Na'vi try to fountainhook someone for 15+ minutes over and over was pretty dumb, it's even more dumb to blame them for doing it or to say that it's "unfair" and "impossible to defend against". Every time they miss a hook like that (or even if they land it), Pudge is out of the potential fight for a solid period of time, every time - Tongfu had plenty of opportunities to take an engagement and get kills / towers, they just weren't able to make a game out of it.

The turn around Na'vi managed to create is nothing short of impressive, the teamfight in the river they got where they first took out all 5 of Tongfu was (4) incredible, and they definitely showed better composure, patience, and just WILL to win than Tongfu did. That game was the difference between champions and just good players.

ps. if fountainhooking was so 'strong' and 'impossible to defend from' everyone would be doing it, make no mistake. No professional player would forego using an 'easy win' strategy on the grounds of it being 'cheesy' or 'unfair' or 'stupid' or whatever bullshit people are crying about.

No one is blaming Na'Vi for using it, they just don't like it, doesn't matter who is using it.

To be honest I'm a little bent against the whole thing. I love Na'Vi and am super happy they won, but honestly I think banning Chen is like banning Wisp, you just gotta start doing it more often.

Apparently fountain hooking is so broken and overpowered and easy every team has been abusing it for almost three years now considering it's been available that entire time

Haha oh wait.

It's a cheesy as fuck come from behind all in strat. It's sending all your workers to the opponents base when you have nothing left. Well guess what, sometimes sending all your workers works and you win the game and sometimes relying on a cheesy come from behind strat works and your carry gets enough freefarm and you win.

Get over yourselves guys, honestly. This is the like 20th time I said this and I'm going to keep saying it. People are doing creative and hilarious and entertaining and skill based strategies that are, no matter how much you kick scream and whine, are incredibly high risk and high skill. It takes THREE PEOPLE to coordinate that (FS + callback timing + hook) This isn't some easy strat that has no risk. It's sending all your workers into the enemy base levels of cheese.

seriously, every pro player in the international can hit those fountain hooks they take SKILL to land but every team has that skill i believe.. i garuntee fountain hooks will be ALOT more common, until pro players catch on and ban chen every game. however likely this may happen very quickly because i garuntee tongfu will be banning one of those heroes every game from now on

Just...Just stop talking about a game you clearly know nothing about.

Bullshit like this has been happening for years in DotA.

yeah been playing this game since the version was still 5.84c and it was still played in warcraft 3 .. this is what made dota unique compared to other games .. and it has little issues towards balance since its more of a creative play .. and bullshit play is part of why dota is fun

I think the best thing with this game was actually the thread and casters. Reading and hearing for 15 minutes how Navi got no chance at coming back and how fucking awful navi was delaying the loss.

Suddenly all the space they created for Hvost showed in a 20K net worth alche choping everybody. LR thread made the game :D

dendi missed 20+ fountain hooks, tongfu did nothing but sit behind gyrocopter. Either you dodge the hooks or you go for kills.

never on a stage this big in order to prove how strong the combo truly is

i garuntee tongfu has learned their lesson. watch them ban or firstpick chen/pudge every game from now on

i expect almost every game from now on will have chen or pudge bans from now on after seeing what power the fountain hooks have

this feels like the non-brawl players reacting to wobbling during evo. you don't know enough about the game to be complaining =(

It was fun for a game but things this strong will be used and the third, fifth and twentyfifth game you watch of it is really really going to blow.

I tend to be towards the bottom, you play to win, I mean how many cheese outs have we seen in major SC2 games? Tons

I have yet to see any 'creative special strategies' in SC2 where if you can time 2 abilities well you one shot the enemy army.

Every argument that 'this is hard' are ridiculous. It's not hard for the best players in the world since they do this every day all the time.

Dendi is the best pudge in the world, I highly doubt many other players would be able to do it.

I really don't get ppl complaining about fountain hooks. It's a cool feature in game and also very double edged sword. Sending pudge home can cost you teamfights so easily. Sadly, TongFu didn't capitalise on failed hooks.

Very well deserved win, suck it haters

they're the same people who complain about cheese in BW/SC2, basically people who have never actually played a video game in their life and live to complain about how others player games

It's not a 'cheese' though. They were only doing it because they were super far behind. When playing that far behind, you have literally no risk in doing it, especially if you are on your side of the map and by a tower. The fact that Dendi hit Hao when he had an aegis was a monumental deal; that swung the momentum heavily into Navi's favor.

"no risk in doing it"

yeah except fighting 4v5 if you miss the hook, you know how little of a risk that is against a team with a farm advantage over you

everyone is blaming Navi for "abusing" some even call it cheating.

If most here are either scared to try or don't have the skill to do the technique, why is it hated so much? It's pure skill to do this, get over it.
