Oh you're here for the international 4 too?

Yeah the first game is EG against DK. Fear vs Burning.

Hahaha DK faced EG first last year. Was this on purpose?

Oh it was?

Erh... fully on purpose of course! I dno, I missed Fear a bit. That was literally the only thing that could have made it more fun. And ffs I want more Burning, this international made me a fanboy.

Pretty sure the point is that EG probably won't get to TI4 and DK seem close to disband, if Burning is retiring.

Honestly, I'd love to, but from a viewer standpoint, it was VERY overwhelming for me. The number of heroes, the number of spells, the variety of strategies, and the fluidity with which the game flows from strat to strat... Its scary. I don't like being horrible at things, but I get the feeling I'd be horrible at DotA for a LONG time.

As a side note. It really is hard to get good at Dota 2 right away. Early WC3 Dota experience is really the only reason I'm decent.

Wisp/KotL yes, Chen no. Chen is confirmed as an intended change for DotA 2 however the visuals are currently bugged.

edit: KotL/Kunkka/Wisp/enemy Disruptor actually. The latter one being a bit awkward for obvious reasons. =P

I just started a few days ago and while I'm of course still horrible it helps massively with understanding what's going on in the matches. Worth it just for that imo.

Just forget about that and pick a hero and build shit ! :D. The equivalent to mass cannon -> carrier in SC. You'll still enjoy it, and you'll learn it as you play.

The heroes/items come quite quickly, but they aren't requirements to have fun with the game, IMO.

From what I can tell with my imperfect Chinese, the Chinese casters poked a little bit at Burning at the end to see what his plans were, but he was really close-lipped. Just FYI, though feel free to confirm with your Chinese source.

He is wrong, valve confirmed the fountain hook is intent fed, the visual bug is not.

I'm not sure if it was 'intended' as in they were fine with the gameplay mechanics, or that the developers thought it was funny and decided to leave it in. Alot of semi-pros/pros were pretty upset with the way Na'vi won against Tongfu, and many were pretty disgusted actually (Loda in particular). I'm sure they were extremely upset when they realized that the fountain hooks were actually invisible.

To be fair its not really THAT hard, just start with some "easy" heroes like Sniper, Drow, Lich, Spirit Breaker, Ursa maybe to learn the mechanichs of the game (Last hit, deny, items, tp, etc...) and when you get enough "knowledge" out of the game you may try some other ones

I assume he'll take some time to make the decision, I just heard that they said "don't assume he'll be caster full time". :3
