Well I have to say I was very disappointed in one way, because I began rooting for: rattlesnake, lgd, liquid, DK, iG, and NaVi and they each lost literally the following series after I decided to cheer for them....I'm so sad....

BUT all in all, I have to say that this International has been just a pleasure to watch. Really glad I did get to catch all of these amazing moments. I really really didn't want alliance to win XD but they played amazingly well throughout the entire goddamn tournament and deserve it one hundred percent. Just jaw-droppers left right front and center, and it's really converted me. Fucking fantastic. I can't remember the last time I've been so excited. Cheers

What a great game and a great event. Was rooting for Na'Vi, but it was still a completely satisfying end to the tournament. I wish all esports events were this good.

Great job with the LR's and thanks for the live reporters.

But something need to seriously change about the rules in the dota subforum, or it'll basically just be joinDota.

The meta in Dota 2 seems to be terrible atm. At least Navi did play outside of it and got 2nd place. Really cool!

Puppy does not agree. He seemed did not mind the meta at all.

Puppey understands that he outsmarted Alliance while they outplayed him. That's what makes him one of the best Dota captains in the world, he has all the reason to be happy.

The current meta is crap.
The really good teams play each other so few times that it's basically just the opinion of teams.

OD deserves to fly straight out of the meta. Naga deserves to get right back in.
And a host of other little things

Dota is one of the greatest games in the world because people like your or me DON'T decide what makes it better.

Sit back, enjoy the ride and try to get behind the mysteries. This TI4 we had 14/16 of the worlds beast teams not understanding how this version was meant to be played. The fact that only DK and Na'Vi were smart enough to do so makes Dota Dota. And the fact that Alliance was able to win despite that with superior execution also makes Dota Dota.

In Icefrog we trust.

And the meta will change in two months. AND WHEN HAVE WE SEEN A NIGHTSTALKER PICK????????????!?!?!??!?!

yeah damn, i dont think i saw one game of him played at all

Nightstalker is such a gamble pick if he falls behind game is over, which is what makes that game so much more amazing since he got first blooded and still decimated.

The last game was hardly in anyones pocket to be fair, it wasnt a throw... Navi just got outplayed, it was anyones game and Alliance took it thats it

If you think that Navi throwed the game you need some more Dota 2 time

Huh? The final game was great but what was so special about the event itself? Definitely not the introduction nor winners cemeronies.

The production was better than the last 20 cheaply produced SC2 events combined. Get over it, deal with it. A new era has begun. TB and Artosis switching is only the beginning.

TB and Artosis are switching to Dota what?

TB definitely.

Tasteless or Artosis tweeted smth. similar. You gotta read between the lines.

TB might cast. Don't count on Artosis, like fucking ever. He has a wife and kid in Korea and he loves SC2(unless GOM makes him cast). TB isn't going anywhere though, he was just venting about the MLG thing and then found out the Redbull was doing a thing the same day.

This should be the wake up call the Chinese need for sure. I expect them and maybe the Koreans to be serious cotenders for TI4.

Plus Alliance will surely slip a little after making $1.5m.

My take is that the chinese scene will be really quiet for a few months and we will get only small reshuffle and entire rosters being disbanded.

I'm still ecstatic that Nightstalker and Chaos were very effective. Two of my favorite outcasts just crushing any doubt about their strength.

To me, this last game was a microcosm of the entire series and maybe the entire tournament from both the teams perspectives. Na'vi are the individually skilled, in-your-face, big play type team that likes to snowball out of control whereas Alliance are the cool, calculated split-push oriented juggernaut with perfect decision making.

In this game, we saw Na'vi win lanes with some sick juking from XBOCT (and bad play from Alliance) and the individual prowess (as well as more laning-oriented heroes) of Dendi and Funn1k. Na'vi then proceeded to win several teamfights, farming up XBOCT in the process. Eventually they get a rosh and push mid but Alliance have the mental wherewithal to realize they can't defend and that the only way they can win is through splitpush, doing so in spectacular fashion. Intense, crazy, heartbreaking (at least for me), but most of all beautiful, this was just an all-around miraculous game.

Both teams are amazing, just in different ways. Na'vi can fountain-hook their way to victory. Alliance can rat dota the way to theirs. Neither is more heinous or acceptable than the other. Both are effective. Please, just stop the whining and realize that you've enjoyed perhaps the best game and best tournament of Dota ever to exist.

Na`Vi win a decent chunk of money and win the hearts of the International...again. Alliance just really wanted to win, they did what it took. They weren't going to win that game straight up, so they improvised. People shouldn't feel sorry for Na`Vi, it's not like they got robbed and they sure as hell aren't going home empty handed. They've been the worlds favorite Dota 2 team for well over 2 years now, it's like that for a reason. Alliance played great all tournament and deserve nothing but the championship. Quit being so sad and angry about either team(s) and be happy for both and Esports in general, this was a great event.

All y'all can't be complaining about tactics or what needs to get nerfed or whatever. That tourney was exciting a f and to an outsider it seems like the most skilled/consistent team won. What else is there to say? DotA looks like a really good game right now.

Yes and no. Dota looks like an incredible game right now no doubt but as a newcomer something like TL LGD was thousands of times more exciting than Alliance split push, and I'm new to the game. I guess that a League backgrounds does give me a bit more knowledge about tower pushing, map control, etc. but still. Consistent and highly strategic [A] might be but NaVi's, DK's, and iG's play seemed more skilled as far as players went. I saw some absolutely insane stuff from burning, dendi, ferrari, mushi, heck even Bulba. Now I know that it is a team game and that for the majority of the tournament alliance outdrafted everyone, but I never had the wow factor from Alliance outside the few Loda snipes even in the finals. And that does hurt the game to a degree. That said, I wont deny that when big plays are being made, and the threshold for those is imo much higher than in fcompetitive league or sc2, that DotA looks like the best game in the world.

Sure they will get one pickoff, they will get two pickoffs. Dota is not about kills, its not about gold. Its about killing the opponents throne.
