The International has to be the gold standard of eSports. Huh? The final game was great but what was so special about the event itself? Definitely not the introduction nor winners cemeronies. The production was better than the last 20 cheaply produced SC2 events combined. Get over it, deal with it. A new era has begun. TB and Artosis switching is only the beginning. WCS EU had a better award ceremony for sure.

So fucking bored to hear the usual Alliance hate, mostly outside of TL but anyway. What makes their game boring? The same heroes and the split pushing? They've used a variety of strategies throughout the tournament and outplayed the opponent a number of times. With the same logic ppl could say that Na'Vi is just Dendi+4 (which it isnt).

Enemy Fountain Necronomicon Lvl3 beats Fountain Hook anyday.

At least Navi did play outside of it and got 2nd place. Really cool! Puppy does not agree. He seemed did not mind the meta at all. Puppey understands that he outsmarted Alliance while they outplayed him. That's what makes him one of the best Dota captains in the world, he has all the reason to be happy. The current meta is crap. The really good teams play each other so few times that it's basically just the opinion of teams. OD deserves to fly straight out of the meta. Naga deserves to get right back in. And a host of other little things Dota is one of the greatest games in the world because people like your or me DON'T decide what makes it better. Sit back, enjoy the ride and try to get behind the mysteries. This TI4 we had 14/16 of the worlds beast teams not understanding how this version was meant to be played. The fact that only DK and Na'Vi were smart enough to do so makes Dota Dota. And the fact that Alliance was able to win despite that with superior execution also makes Dota Dota. In Icefrog we trust. And the meta will change in two months. AND WHEN HAVE WE SEEN A NIGHTSTALKER PICK????????????!?!?!??!?!

Only difference is this WAS the best eSports event. Oh god, those tanks... THOSE freaking tanks destroying DRG last expansion

my closing thoughts:
1) Not missing a single game of TI3 in the Australian timezone is really damn draining. 2) Fountain hooks are bullshit. I'm still fuming from that game. 3) Poor kyxy 4) I hope Burning doesn't retire, he can still do great things yet. 5) That was one of the best final games of any tournament I've ever watched 6) juff is a fucking boss for live reporting all the games. seriously, what a hero 7) China disband... or at least massive reshuffle. i expect a very interesting chinese scene for the next few months 8) Amazing production from the team. There are a lot of things they can improve about TI in general, but overall great job. 9) Thank god azarkon was banned for the main event. 10) Long live Dota 2!

Stop complaining about split pushing...
If NaVi didn't want to deal with it, why not ban NP?

yo the point of the game is to kill the ancient.
how can u be mad for a team trying to do it fast?

Congrats to [A] and Na'vi for a great final.
Can't wait for next TI.

Win for Alliance = Me satisfied
Na'Vi played extremely well and would not carry a grudge if they won.
Dota 2 and Valve the real winners, because that final was absolutely epic.

I don't know man. The great thing about the Alliance is they really don't have a weak point on their team and they have a big and I mean big pool to play. That's the beauty of it. I cannot say the same for many of the other teams especially the Asian ones. They just didn't have the supporting cast to hang this International. It's the old homage: your only as good as your weakest player.

With Navi beating Alliance next year. With a split push. In the final game. That's the only way. Nah, next year meta will be centered around 5 mid 10 minutes rax. With what heroes should that be even remotely possible? You need to have superior pushing power early, superior teamfighting early and be able to catch up after you went 5 man push during laning phase. You can't pick syllabear 5 times.

Remember that the 5 game was not won due to split push. It was due to TP cancels. Without those cancels, Alliance can split push all they want but they will still lose.
I wouldn't say Alliance outplayed Navi in game 5. I would say it's the opposite, with slight outdraft. But S4 delivering at such clutch situations shows how class of a player he is. I don't think I have seen a solo mid player as good as S4 in terms of playmaking. We have flashy laning gods like Mushi/Dendi/430, but none of them are at the same level as S4 when it comes to playmaking. This guy single handily dictates the tempo of the game so many times.
