Hello guys. I'm new here - hope I'm not doing anything wrong.
So I bought a new mouse Logitech G300 to play Dota 2 with.
I'm wondering how should I set it - I'm really struggling to find the correct settings.
Sadly I'm playing on a mac: there I have the cursor speed setting (hopefully it's the same as Windows). from 1 to 10.
Then I have the Polling which can be set 125, 250, 500 or 1000.
And then I have the DPI from 100 to 2500.
I can't even find the best polling - and the fact they multiply makes it hard to set.
Does anybody know a way to find the best setting?
Does anybody know any pro players' Polling DPI and Sensitivity?

Thanks for your answer - I would like some further details too. Hopefully someone will help us out

I learned most of what I know of mouse settings from the shooter genre, so keep that in mind.
From what I understand, mouse polling should be set to max, since there's no reason to not have a higher refresh rate on it.
Your sensitivity is your dpi multiplied against your windows sensitivity.
Generally speaking, lower sensitivity results in better mouse accuracy and precision, while higher sensitivity lets you respond to certain things faster/really move the mouse around at the cost of potential misclicks.
Common dpi settings in the shooter genre are 400, 800, and 1600. I have no idea what's common for dota players, but I personally use 1600.
At the end of the day, just find some sensitivity that works for you. The easiest method is probably just to pick a dpi that you feel like using and then adjust the windows sensitivity until you find something you like.
Also, do yourself a favor and turn off mouse acceleration ("enhance pointer precision").

Mine goes up to 4500 which is just nuts - just super erratic and I keep losing track in crazy fights.
So I would say try around 1600, and if it's still a bit crazy 800-1000 should be fine too.

There used to be an OS X tool that made the mouse behave like windows

if your mouse sens feels too high because your dpi is all the way up there, you can compensate by turning down your windows sensitivity. You don't have to change your dpi unless your windows sensitivity is turned all the way down and it still feels too high.

all these mouse settings are for your own comfort. of course, this applies to amateurs and pros too.
just keep a setting to what you use to browse your desktop comfortably. lows sensitivity became a standard in FPS like counterstrike early on for various and even silly reasons. there`s plenty of successful pros in that game who still use higher sens.
no reason why you could not do the same in a slower overall game like dota. i used to do 800 DPI only and shifted up to 1800 easily once 1080p gaming became a thing. so really, i think it depends on your resolution and your very own comfort.
just don`t be someone who depends on clicking skills or items as opposed to using hotkeys.
