Is it ever ok to go level 1 sandstorm on sand king? It seems totally idiotic to me.

Well dota is a game of extremes so if you know for certain you wont use your burrowstrike a lvl 1 sandstorm will allow you to clear a stacked easy camp for a instant lvl 2 and a point in burrowstrike anyway.

That's true. I guess I should clarify that I mean when people start off with level 1 sandstorm to stack and kill medium/hard camps.

Level 1 Sandstorm is pretty pathetic when it comes to clearing camps. Yes, it can do a small camp, but usually you want to keep creeps in there to pull. Burrowstrike is just one of those skills that you almost exclusively get at level 1 on a hero. Holding onto the skill point till you need to use it is still fine, though. Maybe Sandstorm is the only way you survive a level 1 gank, for example.

I like to stack the easy camp once and pull, use sandstorm level 1 on the stacked camp and you can kill the camp and deny the wave fully which gets you an easy level 2

you aren't guaranteed to kill the double camp if you auto attack, especially if there's a ghost or a healer

With the new assist gold changes would a valid strategy be to drop all of your items when an ally is about to get a kill or die? I know that when you drop your items on the ground the net worth table on the top left of spectator mode shows that you have a lower net worth. Would this work in a real game, esp if your carry drops 15k worth of items?

Ahaha I don't know if that would work but if it dles it would be hilarious to see a bunch of players frantically dropping items when one of their teammates gets caught out

This was discussed since the very first iteration of the gold comeback changes in 6.82, but I don't know if a conclusion was ever reached. I've never seen it in a pro game at least.

I tested it in a bot game, there's no difference between dropped items and carried ones. It's possible that bots and/or cheats breaks the comeback system anyway, though.

even if it worked, it's too risky

Hi Guys, First time poster, I am a low MMR EU West player (1300) and I play support primarily about 90% of the time. Sometimes however I get bored of playing Support and want to Carry for a game, but if I choose a Carry no one else ever seems to pick a support so we have maybe 4 Carries and a semi support. Is this just an issue at lower MMR games or is there a lack of supports throughout the ranks? Is there a forum anywhere where you can find a partner to play with?

http://www.liquiddota.com/forum/the-tavern/453836-inhouse-dota <--- play with other TLers. They're not dicks

It's probably more common in sub 3k mmrs but it isnt gone in higher mmrs so dont feel bad about it. Ler has some great articles on how to play support

Also, pick whatever you like having fun is the most important thing. Play carry if you want, try to first pick it though

Not a whine, but legit question -- why do under levelled supports love hoarding for a 15 min arcane boots so much?

I see so many supports with no real mana sustain problems rush these when losing and cripple themselves. Urn, wand, tranqs, euls components, force components all do more to keep you alive when behind

I get it if you are running a push strategy or you can pick them up with first blood gold in 5 minutes.. But I'd generally rather my jakiro slow builds a force than waste 1k on arcanes

I mostly play mid, but if I'm playing support sometimes if I leave the lane to rotate and gank mid, place wards, stack camps and so on my lane partner complains that I should be in lane helping him get farm. Is he just bad if he says that? Or are there some instances where I should stay in lane until we start grouping up to take objectives?
