its probably because you are not using it on a hero that is locked down solid. the ulti combos really well with heavy disable, so try to drop it on a target who has already been disabled by another hero, then casting ice path to lock him down on top of it.

Yeah I am haha, and I can't find any reason why I would want buckler over a basi, or even want to spend 800g on a casual buckler.

Macropyre is an excellent splitpushing tool--it even damages siege creeps! Instantly destroys creepwaves to let your creeps and liquid fire melt the tower.
Honestly, it's very very hard to hit a good macropyre in a teamfight unless you have a magnus/enigma/dark seer on your team. You can however euls -> macropyre -> icepath for a few seconds of guaranteed burn.

How effective it will be in teamfights depends a lot on the lineups in play. Without a good setup, it simply isn't going to do a huge amount of damage. In that case you ideally want to use it in early fights to make the enemy spread out, cut off retreat for some and zone the rest out of the action. If you have setup or once you get Euls, a disable - macropyre - ice path - dual breath combo does a huge amount of damage and can easily kill / cripple squishier heroes.
edit: this is a better explanation than mine

You really don't see why paying 300 gold for 4 extra armor might be good value?
And in this case we're talking about wanting to build a buckler but not having anything to properly build it into, now a lot of heroes have the option of building it into a crimson guard. We're not talking about a casual buckler but the fact that buckler now can be bought without intending to make a mek for certain heroes who can utilize the armor very well.

I find macropyre to be the most powerful right after the laning phase ends where people move around a lot more. The liquid fire and macropyre build to be extremely effective at killing tier one towers. Jakiro is also a pretty strong tank as he normally has around 800-900 hp around this time with a decent amount of armor so he can do this relatively safely alone.

Hm. I think I'm more thinking this way:
Basi: 500g for 3 armor (always active) Chainmail: 550g for 5 armor Buckler: 800g for 5 armor (+2, can be kept up constantly for you, but 25s cd) Medallion: 1075g for 6 armor (-6) Blademail: 2200g for 6 armor + active
I just don't know of any hero that I would want a buckler on if it weren't a part of mek or CG. I just wouldn't say the item itself is all that cost effective. The chainmail itself can be built into so many other things that I don't really see the argument of buckler being such a cost effective slot.

Well there's also the overall effectiveness of +all stats early game. For early fighting stats, +all stats tends to be efficient because while in the medium-term your stat needs tend to skew one way or another, in early game fights you sort of need everything because your base stats arent that high yet, so +all stats are the most efficient way to get combat stats.
Bracer/Null/Wand are already spoken for, and for personal stats are more effective than Buckler for obvious reasons--but give no team benefit and don't build into an item as well-rounded as CG. Aquila obviously gives the best of both worlds but isn't all that good for non-Agi heroes (and for the most part Agi heroes aren't the ones considering CG anyway).

if you go to the steam overlay (it's set to shift+tab by default) you can see a list of friends who are on the same server as you.
It's a quick way to tell who's watching your game when you're playing or who's watching the same game as you are.

Buckler isn't amazingly cost effective as an item if you only consider what it does for your hero. However, if you are together as 5 with a full creep wave 10 minutes into the game the active that's a total of 20 extra armour across the push for 25 mana and 800g. Assuming heroes have on average about 700hp at 10min, it's roughly an extra 700hp of punishment in total that the group can take in physical damage. That's pretty good for 800g.

Isn't the spectating server a different one to the game server?

Shift+Tab, Friends box (not the View Friends List), there's a button to View Players.
I assume that's what you're referring to.

I have no idea how to lane against Clinkz. He just harasses me off the lane and I can't do shit to him because he has his speed + invis. Case in point, played as Jugg. PMS appearently doesn't do much, support can't zone him out because Clinkz just right clicks him to death before I can do anything. Bad matchup or is there something to do that I'm missing?
