Very easy: 1th is the guy who's suppose to get the most farm, and is most dependent on it. 2-5 will give him the lasthits and gold if possible. 2 is the second highest farmer. 3rd is third highest etc. fourth and fifth are the supports who always gives the farm to everyone else if possible, and buys all the stuff that affects the team and not just themselves (wards, dust, smoke, courier, etc). While the 1th position will always only buy items that makes himself stronger.
Generally its not that easy to just blindly give a number to everyone on the team, as they might differ from game to game, what state the game is in, and even how long the game has gone. But thats the general idea. So when a commentator talks about the "1th", he means the hardcarry.

Hypothetically they deal with farm priority, where 1 gets more farm than 2 etc etc down the list. More often it's used to define what lane they play these days but there's some fluidity there. 1 = hard carry usually safelane 2 = mid 3 = offlane 4 = secondary support/jungler. Plays the more-farm support or else chen/ench/enigma type heroes. 5 = hard support. wardbitch etc.

Usually where you see the #s differ from positions are with things like an NP, LD or BB offlane who may act like a #1 or #2 (though usually not until later in the game), aggressive tri-lanes where the #1 could be offlane or solo safelane, or even a #1 or #3 mid depending on the hero put there (someone like Pudge might be considered more of a #3 mid since he's only really after 1-2 medium sized items before giving up farm to focus on ganking). Support WK, Alchemist, and Mirana are also examples of heroes that might move up in priority over a game while someone like Batrider might move down after getting his core items.

Whenever I link him he just astrals and walks off, so I get some damage but so does he. If I'm trying to bully him I'm always in astral range, which means he's getting lots of int and eventually drains me down. Feels a lot more even than it should be.
I think you start boots first against OD because OD has to start boots first vs you. You want to try and link after he uses astral.
I think you have a very strong timing at level 5 if you want to get 3 points in link and 2 points in E to bully him. This is when you should be getting your upgraded boots (well before him) and have a level advantage on him by forcing him back/denying creeps. This however will hurt your early pushing/farming/teamfight ability because of the later Q max. But if the lanes don't break down until after 10 minutes which is pretty common in pubs I think it's better.
I think phase boots are better than the more trendy treads here. Usually you choose phase over treads to win the laning stage and this is doubly true with their great synergy with static link.
Ferrari and Lin played pretty much straight 1v1 mid in this match.

Is there a "max click speed" in dota2? To push it to an extreme: say you had a computer code or something that did 1000 clicks every second. Would all 1000 clicks be registered? If not, how many would? Is this limited by my internet speed and how good the connection is, or is there some kind of cap that dota puts on how many actions it will receive from you per second (buttons pressed, mouse x/y movements, mouse clicks, etc).
I'm guessing dota puts some kind of cap because if not it would be subject to those brute force attacks like websites sometimes are.

My screen location hotkeys no longer work. After setting up a new computer a week ago I copied the lines from the old autoexec, but it's not working. If there's a new way to set screen location hotkeys, I'd love to know. I've just tried a good half a dozen variants that people have confirmed as working in teh past month... none of them actually work. If someone has screen locations currently set up and working, would you be so kind and copy/paste the autoexec.cfg code. <3

also, did you try going to settings page and making sure you dont have any hotkey conflicts? there are 3 pages in the option menu that you need to check for hotkey conflicts just to make sure you dont have some random action set to the hotkey you are trying to use.

Those are the old camera console commands.alias "+toprune" "dota_camera_set_lookatpos -2273 1800" alias "-toprune" "+dota_camera_center_on_hero"
alias "+botrune" "dota_camera_set_lookatpos 3035 -2350" alias "-botrune" "+dota_camera_center_on_hero"
bind "A" "+toprune" bind "B" "+botrune" Change A/B to whatever you want.

Ok, apparently none of these work when you put them in the autoexec.cfg in steam/steamapps/common/dota2beta/dota/cfg, but they do work when you put them into the console line by line, although not really. The above sometimes works but does not work on every button press. What eventually worked when I put it in line by line into the console, is this:
bind "F1" "+show_runetop" // Jump camera to top rune and back to hero bind "F2" "+show_runebottom" // Jump camera to bottom rune and back to hero
// Jump camera to rune positions while pressing the keys and back to hero on release
alias "+show_runetop" "dota_camera_set_lookatpos -2287 1817" ///-2273.898682 1732.745483" alias "-show_runetop" "dota_select_all; dota_select_all; +dota_camera_follow"
alias "+show_runebottom" "dota_camera_set_lookatpos 2960 -2353" alias "-show_runebottom" "dota_select_all; dota_select_all; +dota_camera_follow"

Regarding the Force vs Chrono situation - you can actually nudge people out of Chrono with Fissure as a mean to get out of a Chrono.

Question about unranked matches, do they set you up against player with a similar ranked rating, or is it just a hidden ranking they use to set you up against players of similar skill?

It's the same old hidden ranking.

Have you tried to init the autoexec from console?
|
I did not know you had to do that. Weird that noone would mention that in a couple dozen guides.
|
you shouldn't have to usually but sometimes or something.
Did u reopen dota after messing with autoexec?
|
Can you have comments in your autoexec.cfg?
I have this and it works when I load it manually but not automatically. //Range indicator dota_disable_range_finder 0 dota_range_display 1000
