Sidelane bottle is solid, but only if your team is clever enough about the courier usage that you can bottle crow effectively or if you buy a 2nd courier specifically for that purpose. I've seen tinkers pick up bottles when they're on side lane so its not strictly for mid its just a really popular and recommended thing to do when playing mid and alot less common for any other laners to really get a bottle. So yeah this guy is right. Buying bottle when you don't really need it means you just invested in something thats really a waste when that 600 gold could have been used for early boots (like whats pretty standard now because of the price nerf) or some other item that you want rush if your a carry. The reason Tinkers pick it up is because they go back to base to refill it up every 10 seconds or so anyway

2. How much trolling can a person do before the reports have consequences? What consequences? I early-left a couple bot games and know that an early abandonment is a 24-hour low-priority queue penalty. If you're playing a bot game with only yourself vs. bots there isn't a penalty for leaving early, considering it's just you.
Co-op bot, 5 humans vs the AI. Abandonment rules still apply.

That is the main reason. You get your normal 5% regen and then the bottle regen on top of that. Early on the bottle regen cuts down in base time a lot while also helping with keeping hp up when using soul ring on lanes.

Playing for a long time dota now, but i still don't know if I should play with auto attack on or off? What do the pro players play with ? And what are the advantages/disadvantages of both?
thanks !
|
i think some pros use on and some pros use off advantages of auto attack would be less tiring on fingers, lets you watch other screens while farming, and possibly faster at pushing? advantages of it off would be you have absolute control of your hero. no accidental hits on creeps etc etc personally i play with it on cause thats how it was in dota1
|
On: Forces you to keep spamming/moving when last hitting, making you harder to anticipate for hooks/arrows/razes etc and last hit timings. It also makes it easier to move about since you often don't even need to right click the creep but just stop moving when the creep you want to hit is nearest.
Another bonus is that if you jungle, kill the creeps while shopping you will start hitting an enemy that happens by.
Downside is that you reveal yourself when trying to hide. Being forced to s spam in these situations can be game breaking.
Off: Hard to learn for people used to it with on.
|
The one benefit of playing with it on, if you're melee (though it can also help if you're short ranged) and need to move around something and attack a creep, you'll do it instantly once you finish moving (or you can hit s). Whereas with it off you have to attack move, which might take too long.

depends on preference imo
Play a few games with it on, then a few games with it off, and choose whichever you're more comfortable with.

Question:-
I just had my first game of NS(randomed it), which should i be going first for him after Phase/Bottle/Urn.
BKB or Aghamin sceptor? I know ferrari430 signature is NS, can someone share me a VOD of him using NS and owning. I remember watching one before where tobi described him as ping pong around the map scoring kills. I did the best i could with NS like him.

Any tips for NS? i actually kinda enjoy playing a facerush hero haha.

Treads are more typical than Phase right now on NS. Typically BKB is bought before Aghanim's because of it's better overall usefulness (Aghanim's is slightly better for ganking, but BKB is significantly more powerful as a teamfight item, while still also providing damage/survivability for ganks). After BKB, Aghanim's is an option--AC and Armlet are also considered and generally much more common choices as they have much more damage/teamfight potential, while Aghanim's is primarily a map control tool.
With regard to skill order, keep in mind that 430 and other Chinese Night Stalkers typically do not choose to get ult at 6, and rather level Hunter in the Night 1-2 times further before getting Darkness during the first night time.

This isn't really a simple question but... If brewmaster ults, uses a panda spell right before the end and then refreshes his ult, will the respawned brewlings still have a cooldown on the spells? Or do they count as completely new units and thus aren't affected by what they cast earlier?

Just tested it because i was curious too. Even if it was a bit tricky to reproduce, as the cooldowns are pretty low anyway but they dont share cooldowns and thus aren't affected by what they casted earlier.
Why did you want to know? Working or thinking about a refresher build for him?

Just wanted to know in case i ever wanted to go refresher on panda.

Well the question seems stupid but I didn't found the answer. How do you put an item on the floor (or give an item to someone) in dota 2 ?
I know how to do it in dota, but in dota 2 right click only propose "sell" and "see in the shop". Left click doesn't do anything if it's not an activable item, and I didn't see any command that do sth like that (or I missread). But since I saw people put items on the floor, I know it's possible.... I do without but it's kinda annoying....

OK, two kinda noob questions here: 1) I know the game, I played some dota 1, but I'm feeling totally lost in the interface and the client as a whole. Is there a better way for a noob to start with dota2 than pub games? Because I haven't really played a game without leavers and other unpleasant encounters (such as - pick Nature's Prophet, solo mid, go 0-6-0 in a few minutes, leave).
2) Any advice which heroes should one start with when new to the game? I started with Storm Spirit (by far my fave hero in Dota 1), now I can't decide who to go for next in allpick games. I'm thinking Shadow Demon, Kunkka and/or Earthshaker.

As Yango pointed out treads are better than phase, bkb is better in most situations. I wouldn't level up darkness until lvl 10 since it's pretty bad during the first night, when you're the strongest hero on the map, compared to hunter. Never stop farming, don't overextend. When you gank a double lane, kill the one with a stun/slow first. In teamfight go for supports heroes with bkb on and silence important heroes such as ds/enigma/tide. When you're not the primary carry, vlads and tarrasque are great items after your bkb. Don't forget to buy a gem if you're against invis heroes, it also allows you to counterward which is great for NS. Basher is nice. If you're mid lane against a non strength hero, get the 6min rune, dive and kill your opponent.

Remember that Crippling Fear is a no-damage skill, so you can silence the hero with the disables, and then kill whoever is the easier or more valuable kill (which may or may not be the same hero), without "wasting" any damage.

It just makes things easier when you start NS to kill the annoying one first :D

In pro games you often don't need ags since the wards are placed well, but this is often not true for pubs. Also, pros smoke more which makes the vision less useful.
