1. Uh most games are fine but it varies wildly from person to person. Leaving games/abandoning will net you more leavers in your games.
2. Because people in general are kinda tools. My theory is dota 1 was like BW and dota 2 is like SC2 and the old guard resents the newbies. And to be fair alot of the newbies are fucking wankers and I could be just fucking wrong. That said TL is TL and is the most mature/nice internet community I've ever had the pleasure to stumble across. In game maybe the reason no one helps you is that no one can?
My own question apparently doom can eat lone druid bear?! Is this true? do you get entangling claws, building damage, magic resist?

No and no. He can't eat the bear because it's an ancient. Warlock's Golem is also an ancient.
Regarding the skill gains, even if he ate it, Doom is hardcoded to only be able to get skills from neutral creeps. He can eat necrowarriors, but he won't get their skills. Same with other minions he can eat, like forge spirits or spiderlings.

1.how many random matchups actually stay 5v5 passed 10 mins or so in the game? i just got my key 3 days ago, but ive had more games end up not counting than counting in the end.
2. why is the dota2 in game community so awful? they avoid new players like the plague, do not answer any questions, or help with any builds or character selection. i am willing to learn. i played bots for 20-30 games b4 even attempting against others. just tell me who to pick and what lane to run and ill listen. but no one actually in game fucking cares to help me. nothing against this forum, i know i can always come here but i should be able to ask in game too.
Oh oh, one I can actually answer and give back a little:
1) In the normal skill queue, this is unfortunately too common. I'm hoping as the player pool goes up considerably as the beta opens up, and we move in to release, this will go down. There's no easy answer to this.
2) I actually find the Dota 2 community to be not nearly as bad or scary as people have tried to make it out to be. For every asshat I meet, I'll meet two nice people willing to help and answer questions. Best way to fix this is to be the solution. No, seriously. Next time your in a game with a total newbie that's failing, don't yell at them! Ask if they are new, and if you can help, or if they have any questions. Use the commendation system! If someone is friendly or helpful, use the post game screen to commend them for it. If someone is flaming you needlessly, mute them in game and tell your team you muted them because they are just being rude, but you're willing to learn if you're making a mistake. You'd be surprised how people will respond once they know you're actually willing to take constructive advice. Many people get in to a "dumb newb" defensive mode because so many newbies are completely unwilling to admit that they are terrible and need a helping hand.
A little bit of thick skin, willing to admit you're very new, usage of the commendation system, and just flat muting people that are being trolls goes a long way. You're still going to have people say things like "Gah newb, why feed?", but just go on with your life and try to improve. If all else fails, remember that you're playing in Normal Skill queue, and none of these games are the end of the world, no money is on the line.
Note: This is coming from a newbie with ~40 public match making games to his name.

If I may give one more minor piece of advice: Find an in-game chat channel to hang out in. I don't know if TeamLiquid has one, but I know Penny Arcade does (I hang out in there), as does Purge Gamers, and I believe JoinDota. A lot of times you can go in to one of those channels and say "newbie looking for someone to help me through a couple of games", and find a veteran player willing to help. It's a decent stand in until we get the Mentor system.
e: Gah, I hate to keep adding stuff, but I just keep remembering little tidbits. Something else to keep in mind, a lot of non-native English speakers (e.g. many that can't speak English at all) are playing on the NA servers, because it's the only way to not have horrible queue times...so be patient with that as well. Sometimes you're team won't be helpful because they can't actually communicate with you. Some people rage about this, but it's just a property of the beta.

Why is enigma not played as a laner? I've been playing bot games testing out people and i see that enigma's summons do a flat out retarded amount of damage to people(if you get 6 of them and right click the enemy he will just die if he doesn't move away or at least take massive damage from them) Is it because he can jungle so effectively and not many people can or some other reason i'm missing?
edit: there is an item that reduces armor (i think) that you can use on the enemy if you really want him to die lol

Enigma long lane is strong, but he also jungles really fast. Faster than if he were on the long lane. He can beat most enemies in a 1v1 situation, but most of the time on a long lane you won't be getting that much in terms of farm (if even levels). Enigma in the jungle picks up items really quickly, and that's something you want alongside items on him.
And yes Medallion is not bad on Enigma. You can solo Roshan with maxed Eidelons and Medallion.

I see, so his lack of hard escape limits his usefulness/farm ability in the long lane and there are people who can become stronger with the farm from the safer lanes. Thanks!
Edit:spelling

as someone new to dota, ive had my key for 3 days, and i have about 20 bot games and 5 pub games under my belt.
should i just play with one hero and get good with that or should i just play random or more than one character and just work on mechanics? keep in mind i cant dedicate playing dota2 all day as much as i wish i could.

Dedicating to playing 1 hero is always better than playing tons of heroes and don't have any clues. You can work on mechanic with 10 heroes, or you can work on mechanic with 1 hero, it's the same amount of time you have to spend anyway.
But my suggestion is, you can try to play not 1, but 2,3 heroes and rotate them. You should watch pro's plays to look for tricks/inspired plays from them and to have a clue what to do with the heroes.

thanks. should i play like one of each type?
currently im focusing on support heroes, mainly lich. should i just continue with him while also mixing in a carry and maybe a jungler or something? or just 1 str, 1agi, and 1 int hero? keep it simple until i get better mechanics?

just play whatever heroes you think look fun

^^ yes yes i do appear to be overthinking it.

The team with the jungler gets more exp and gold than a team without would get so usually you want him to jungle. Teams only play him on the sololane if they get him early but decide later to run a trilane. Since he can deny farm and exp with his minions hes a decent solo laner but can be killed if hes not carefull. However, in pubs you can play him wherever you want. Its really funny to see your opponent mid raging at your 40 denies :D

Another reason you see Enigma in the jungle rather than lane a lot of the time too is the fact that if you have someone else to long lane and mid already, you might as well put him in the jungle so that everyone on your team gets even more exp in total. Because if you put him in lane then you'd have to trilane or 2-2-1, which means less exp somewhere and the jungle isn't being utilized.

When you're first starting out it's probably better to play only a few heroes (sticking to just one would probably be pretty boring) but try to make yourself play/learn new heroes as often as possible, as a big part of being good at Dota is knowing what every hero can do at any point in the game, no matter if they're on your team or not.

I wouldn't recommend new players trying to play jungle heroes in their first 2-3 hero pool. Jungle heroes require extra game knowledge to be played effectively, and end up getting a lot of flack if played improperly. Having proper starting items, and knowing which neutral spots to clear/stack, is important. Also, knowing when to help your team in a gank/push is critical, which should be often during a game. Too many times I have seen junglers just sit in the jungle and farm 15+ minutes, which ends up hurting the team "most" of the time. Some jungle heroes are easier than others sure, but I'd say wait until you have a decent grasp of the game before trying it in match making. Jungling is just much different than laning because of the freedom of movement that you have.

What happens if a hero has mkb, and you pour beer into the heroes eyes as brewmaster (sceond skill)? do they miss, or is that negated by mkb?
