It really depends on the match-ups. Some carries require babysitting so you're going to have 1-2 supports in the lane. Some can hold their own, such as a razor, so supports can go to the offlane to try and shut down the enemy carries.

Anyone know why the Wraith King/Skywrath support duo has completely vanished from the pro scene? It seems like the constant fighting deal would be pretty popular in the current patch (and the prior, for that matter), and the later ability for WK to rotate wherever he pleases to farm ought to be fairly strong. The 20 mana nerf to Reincarnate shouldn't be too bad, not with the buff to Wand and the existence of Mango, and Skywrath still sees some play, so... why isn't this a thing? Are defensive supports too important to allow for dual aggressive supports?

because they're not good in 5v5s, i think. and neither are particularly good at recovering if they don't snowball (if they don't find early kills, i don't think their team will have the space to give wk a lane, and he doesn't want to take up the jungle). also glimmer has made wk more kite-able than ever

support wraith king's teamfight presence is quite limited because he can just be ignored; they're both great at roaming all over the place but i think dragging the game out with better teamfight supports like wd/dazzle/wyvern etc kinda counters them. most teams still limit themselves to 1 strong earlygame roamer, 2 feels a bit all-in.

its not a thing but if youre better than your opponents then why not
against certain heroes just farm up well and bully people out of the lane. extra emphasis on the bullying.
get items that make you run and hit fast such as mom/sny and then follow up with a bkb and then whatever the hell you want. then just run around hitting people all day
as long as you can catch up to people after they throw some cc's at you, they cant run after that and you can take all the time you want to him them to death

Yea he could be core, but never more than 3 position. Recommend full aura build with vlad+AC. More utility like halberd/basher/agh/shivas/hex should you get more items. And while you might want to put some point in his passive, you'll always want 1 point in coil for healing during ult, self-denying or finishing a hero on low HP.

It can be pretty fun if you get a good start, at lvl 6 you can tower dive like mad with 1-3-1-1 and OoV. But often you wont get that much farm in offlane of course too.

i played him dual offlane with lich/undying a couple of times with my friend in 6.84, it was pretty successful and also fun to play but honestly wouldnt recommend it

weaver's ultimate doesn't literally send the hero back in time. he only teleports back to his position 5 seconds earlier and it applies a strong dispel. doom cannot be dispelled by anything.

Rewatiching the Alliance game I realized you can reveal smokes with radiance/octarine illusions. They show the animation for life steal even though the enemies aren't showing.

idk if time lapse mechanics changed when it was brought over to the new engine, but like I said above, currently in dota 2, it applies a strong dispel which will not remove ice blast from a hero. as for the HP changes, I would imagine its in the same category as trying to armlet toggle for more hp to avoid sundering.
