Anyone know the console/cfg command to have the creep you are mousing over highlighted? It's a feature of colour blind mode but I've seen people have this feature without the rest of the colourblind features so I figure there must be a seperate command.

Also, Corrosive Skin is an attack speed slow, while Shadow Strike isn't. Shadow Striking Viper also means you fuck with your own ability to lasthit against Viper for the next 19s due to the Corrosive Skin slowing down your attack speed/animation. AND you can't use your Bottle either in that time cuz you're taking damage.

If it's rank 1 Shadow Strike only, the relative damage of Corrosive Skin and Shadow Strike makes it not worth casting after level 3 or 5. If QoP is maxing Shadow Strike, a QoP that maxes Shadow Strike is more of a liability than a Viper that got Bottle.

You should be able to bottle through levels 1 + 2 of corrosive skin, it doesn't deal 20 damage until level 3.

I remember years ago most tourneys had a limit on buying certain items, ie you could only have a certain amount of sheepsticks, necrobooks, etc.

What changed to make these rules obsolete? Was it simply improvements in player skill/understanding of the game? Better balance between items? A change in balance philosophy?

(a better question might be what made these rules necessary/seemingly necessary at the time)

Ah that edit, was about to say I'm pretty sure you can bottle through things like pudge's rot and others.

from what i remember mek used to have no team cd (25s before next mek or w.e)
so u could triple mek and rax at like 15 min
none of the other items (necro, sheep, etc) were ever as broken as mass mek, but they got limits imposed on them too

there was a "no bd" rule that some tournaments honored some didn't, I remember that from the hon era. But in dota furion kinda made it necessary to add bd protection

QoP had an issue where with lower levels of blink a Viper with Phase or a haste or just better positioning could Ult her (being smart enough not to get it disjointed) and chase her down anyway. This is basically nullified by the new blink range though, especially if you don't straight blink back all the time and abuse the cliffs. You can just spam out waves with Scream I don't think Viper is nearly threatening enough to stop it. Not sure how it's a losing lane anymore it's just a bit of a passive one.

The reason why viper wins is early points in nethertoxin make it almost impossible to last hit in early levels for the qop.

That's actually something I hadn't thought about at all! Makes sense, I was only thinking in terms of the 5 heroes and it was hard to see why the rule would ever be needed.

I remember when mek had no team CD, but that was easily patched in-game once it was found to be so abusable. I'm more curious as to why tournaments felt the need to impose these rules *outside* of the game, especially when as far as I could tell there hadn't been a fundamental change that nerfed mass hex/book. However the courier abuse answer seems to explain this.

Nethertoxin doesn't apply to denies.

Attack speed slows from Poison Attack and Corrosive fuck up her lasthitting way more, especially since QoP actually has a below-average animation (her good projectile speed makes up for it in normal scenarios, but the animation itself is poor, meaning she's disproportionately affected by strong attack speed slows).

Let's say I am a hero with 300 base move speed, boots of travel (+100) and euls (+40). I have 440 move speed total. If someone else on my team is nearby and pops drums charge for a total of +15% move speed, do I gain a total of 66 move speed (15% of all my move speed items) or just 45 move speed (15% of my base movement speed)?

Never thought about the Shadow Strike vs Corrosive math that is interesting indeed. End of the day I guess she can just Scream down waves and bottle rune control, and use Blink to evade the Viper Strike.

Attack animation is the opposite of Razor lol, his whip flies fast but delay on the attack landing QoP does a full body swing but damn that thing dagger flies faster than a Sniper bullet. Dota folks.

On Storm Spirit, why do players only get three points in Vortex (after maxing Overload), then proceed to add points in Remnant? Why not max out Vortex? I watched aliastar do this yesterday, and now I'm watching Blitz do the same.

3 is enough to pull people into vortex, so it's often better to go max remnant after as it speeds up your farm

i guess u are trying to say that 3 lvls in pull is enough to pull ppl into remnant and not into vortex. Sometimes maxing pull for extra disable is needed but its pretty situational idd.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you to their level and then beat you with experience. http://www.dotabuff.com/players/115305822 https://yasp.co/players/115305822
