Really good games vs NP, but the question is are they stronger than eg? Imo np, draft and decision making is predictable, but eg might have an ace up their's sleeves. Chinese dota and faceless are not behind as well.
All in all, Wings still have versatility advantage.

this new EG under crit- is much more volatile and random than the one with ppd
we'd have to see how it goes, but I think EG doesn't have as much of a versatility trouble as before. with crit- and zai they can be quite diverse and still get sufail and babyrage their comfort heros

Winning EG requires so much outplays, simply because you just can't shut down 1 core, you have to win every lane. And still, eg might find space to a comeback out of nowhere, that's the weight of having 5 incredible players. More than versatility, I think that's the strenght of eg.
The only other team I see with that potential is Wings.

Fourth lan win in a row but I'm a bit concerned with blink's performance. He's still very good but he sems to be the one the farthest from his TI level. On the other hand shadow had no problem to give the word carry its full sense. Y's drafting was also a bit weird sometimes but you can never tell for sure if it's entirely legit or if they just want to dick around with different heroes like they sometimes do.

Wings were probably just having fun. No reason for faith to be playing invoker against a top team like ehome.

Potential? They've been coming back in like half their games reliably. Or it might seem like it as we don't get their drafts

Keep in mind they were pretty volatile in the months leading up to TI6 and didn't do so well in the group stages. They just went god-mode in the bracket stage. They obviously have what it takes to be the best team in the world but we don't know yet whether they can keep it up. I'm actually pretty surprised they're still so good, given that many TI winners slack off.

China has really learned their lessons - they let the teams play in loads of small tournaments. There's so many of them don't even get an English cast. Wings will always have a volatile style, but they've been playing the most competitive games of any TI winner in history

and thats something I do not understand.
In EU teams even dodge invites cause they "want to focus". From my perspective as someone who works more than 11hours a day + saturdays I cant understand this mentality.

withdrawing a tournament... nc

They don't necessarily work less hard... A lot of western teams seem to prefer scrims vs other top teams, not revealing strategies, less travel... Wings don't care though, there's no one strategy to them they'd need to practice to perfection and then show when it matters, they just get better at solving Dota, and have immense fun in the process, so playing in loads of competitive games even against lesser teams is of great benefit to them and it's really been showing - no matter how they do in Boston this is the strongest a TI winner has seen in a few months after their win

And in Boston they get win destroying everyone...or nobody would be shocked if they fail to make TOP8...that's the beauty of this team and the awesomeness will always come with volatility.

Hell they even went for necro mid hurricane pike rush and crushed with it, their run has to hit a rough patch at some point :D

I hope it will be a wake up call. VP on its comfort zone was a scary opponent, I think I prefer the approach of first banning naix against them. The first game they really needed to win the veno lane, feeding the first blood was a big mistake with a huge impact imo, weird picks but it's they're suaul stuff. The second game was a bit weird, all 6 cores got some decent farm but then VP simply outplayed them hard during those crucial first fights.

Go wigs, recover from this and come back closer to TI level!

I guess this is how Valve nerfs Wings - single elimination to increase luck

One loss to WG.U, I did not expect that. They're back to their pre dominant period where they took some very questionable fights. On top of that faith_bian is not godlike anymore, I think he misses more stuns in one game than during the whole TI. Not all hope is lost though, EG is the perfect opponent to gain some momentum before facing VP.

I also wonder if they had some good practice opponents since they've been to the US, they had one strat in common with NP, I hope they could also practice with some of the stronger teams. Reso mentionned DC practiced with EG and VP but not wings.

Anyway gogo wings!

Much like EG, they have a stupidly stacked bracket and probably would face EG then VP and then OG lol

faith_bian's SK game vs WG was horrid, he either rpg'ed too much or got drunk.
