It's all good though, they will learn from this. I'm not too concerned, as long as they stick together. Alliance has a lot more experience, and a patch pretty much tailored to their strength. I'm convinced Liquid will do well in the Majors, and in TI if they make it there.

It's ok, Liquid is still a family.

I would be surprised if we saw changes to this roster before TI. I think they're generally showing better games each time and there's no reason to change up something that still getting better.

Agreed they are looking good, they got nervous and hit baited into picking death prophet. They will shake it off.

Was anyone actually suggesting that? Skipped last couple pages. It'd Seem like pure desperate nonsensical attention whoring to suggest one of the top teams today to switch players no matter how they do in Shanghai. The plays and coherence this team displays is insane and unheard of in Liquid Dota Standards.
So the organization won't kick anyone, and the players don't seem to put out any chemistry issues either.

Liquid Rising on Shanghai. You can take that to the bank.

Im not concerned either. Game 1 they actually lost due to bad luck. For example - smoke gank 1 found Wisp, forcing the entire team in a bad position. Gank 2 - Fata was wondering what to do and he came down the ramp the moment the gank was there forcing him to early BKB. If the gank was there 1 second earlier or he went down 1 second later, they'd be fine. THat fight actually lost the game, but gank 1 led to it. Not to mention the moment Loda lived by some miracle when liquid got mid rax. If loda died there he had no BB, that was game, and so on. Yes, Liquid didnt play their best, but they didn't play bad either. This is still one of the best teams in the world. Its Pro dota lads. Mistakes will be punished, especially by an experienced team like Alliance. We have some online tourneys for scrims, then i'm confident they will do very good in SH Major.

Liquid members like mind_control and JerAx are inexperienced on LAN and high pressure situations. People can say they flopped and they did , but us Liquid fans definitely know that these kids will grow out of their shells and becoming stronger. You can count on that . The goal is not these sideshows , sure winning on would be great , but u can bet ur ass , Liquid is looking forward on the Majors and TI cos thats the goal and thats where it really matters

Yeah, I think this was a very important moment in the game. But while Loda's death would be critical, I'm thinking about, what would have happend if they didn't dive him... Because they didn't get rax there! They got it like 2-3min later in the next push, because Loda came back with full health and repelled them. If they focused on the rax and "ignored" Loda they could have destroyed them then and there. Could the money of the rax and so getting some items a little bit earlier made a change? It's hard to see... those are decisions you can question later...
Don't think they should change anything!

I wouldn't call that bad luck. Any team at this level knows Io is sitting behind Matumbaman when he's pushing out the lane that far. A smoke backstab to get the Io first and then Gyro is pretty basic stuff. And I would like to reiterate that that exact scenario has come up and owned them in at least 3 other Io games.
Loda lived because part of the team wanted to get the Rax while the rest tried to get the kill, indecision not chance.
Again, I don't want them to replace players, I actually believe all of them have the skill potential together to win a TI.I just hope they seriously look at what went wrong.

There wasn't really big talk about roster changes, someone mentioned that MC is going to get booted at this pace and I just speculated about roster changes in the scene as a whole.
Essentially I think the post Shanghai major transfer period is precisely the time where major teams may consider changes if they don't like their progression. Frankfurt major was too soon after the lineups were formed, but Shanghai major is the last possibility for top teams to do changes, they've had more time to understand where they are heading and if there are some really interesting options stuff might happen. Strange things have happened in the past that people didn't see coming at all. Most likely scenario to me is that there may be quite a bit of shuffling in the CIS scene, and EG and EUW teams like TL, Secret, OG, Alliance are most likely to stay together. But if a few teams bomb out early at the major you never know.

I bet the players are to most infuriated with the loss no doubt. We only need a little bit more to be the best.

We can probably call the IO death bad positioning from Kuro, as he should've been in the woods at the top of the map, instead of the ones when he died. But catching Fata farming the Big Centaur camp near mid t1 was pure luck - The big centaur barely lived and Fata went down the ramp to finish him, and at that moment Alliance's smoke party arrived. I am not saying that Alliance won purely by luck, there are a lot of factors there - they played well, Liquid made some mistakes, MC didnt perform like he usually does - hell in that two games i saw more questionable walls than in his entire time on liquid.
|
Other games Kuro got caught in the trees above, if the opponent smokes around they're going to find him regardless. He needs to be all the way on the edge of the map, Matumba needs to carry a TP or they need to give up on the idea that Io makes it safe to "solo" push a lane.
It was unfortunate timing for sure that FATA got caught right at that instance but in other games Liquid sniffed out and avoided smokes very well, plus Jerax is usually very good at tanking those ganks. In these games all of Alliance's smokes caught them.

True.
However, I had to just highlight it in some thread as it seems to go on after every 'hype team' doesn't get 1st or something after only being together for a relatively short while.
Anyway, I'm derailing a little bit here. gl to Team Liquid.

I'm just sad that some of Jerax's best moves had to come in a losing game. Some of those plays were really hype inducing and got the casters/crowd going. :D

Not having a team for 2 years will do wonders to lower one's expectations.
I can barely get used to them even winning this much, I still go into games thinking there's a good chance we'll lose against anybody

If you read through the last few (in this context, "few" >3) pages, there are a few posts that either state this opinion or insinuate it.
