To be honest, they have been meeting underrated teams also (Quincy is basicaly Newbee with sumail). I'm sure they will bounce back. I feel they need to work a bit on their drafts, and this can be difficult facing new teams. Also remember pro teams focus more and more on TI since the prize pool is so huge. I only wish some of that money went to minors and majors to make teams more consistent through the years. just remember these guys were super good before TI (and still are, if people look past the latest results).

For most of the teams this Major should be the most important event before TI since the major contenders Secret, Kuro's Team and OG, are not even playing. So whoever finishes top 4 has a pretty good chance of going to TI. The real tournament is the First Major. So if they perform bad there, we will know...

Soooo.... groups are out.

And I hate to say it, but I'm a bit concerned there's a high chance they will end up in a LB bo1

EG and Astor feel stronger. Adroit probably not, but I don't really know those guys.

Liquid right now has to perform. Its the first major of the season, they have been straight up bad, some tier 1 teams are skipping this tourney AND they had a lot of lan time and bootcamp time to fix their problems.

No use worrying about how good opponents are: they need to perform, now is the time.

Honestly i'm not a fan of this roster, never have been since they were under alliance. But i'm sure they can reach new heights, otherwise they wouldn't be pro dota players.

Very true. If they want to have a good shot at qualifying for TI10 they need to perform in Chengdu. It's the easiest points they'll be able to get all season. On the other hand, if they have a good showing (top 4 would be absolutely fantastic for them) they have a very good shot at making TI.

I'm staying optimistic. For now.

Hm, good start into the Major. As many have said, since the big, big fishes are resting this Major out, a good placement is very important for teams like Liquid. We'll see how far they can go.

TBH current roster got a lot of pressure from fan. And the heaviest one is Kuroky's team Legacy.

And his team seem completely disaplear lol.

I'm a bit sick, been sleeping a lot, so I missed games 1 & 2. Did they look better than in game 3? Cause game 3.... yeah let's forget about that one in a hurry

Game 1 was outdraft. Game 2 & 3 were outplays.

Its so weird... I am a liquid dota fan boy since the TC, Bulba, Korok, ixmike, Fluff days. I liked current Liquid roster when they were Alliance, but somehow i just don't care how Liquid perform now... just don't know why? I watched the games this major - when they were wining, i watched today when they lost... nothing went through my heart... no explanation. It just fells like this is not Liquid. Maybe once Kuro team is revealed things will go back in place... i hope so. I really want to watch dota and not only enjoy the good plays of all the teams, but to be able to feel the emotions i felt with the prevous Liquid roster in the past 3 years...

I can understand that feeling, and I have it too, to some extent. Might be that you're not used to this lineup being Team Liquid. I mean we had one of the best teams in the world for three years, with a core roster that remained (mostly) unchanged. It'd be strange if the new roster came in and you felt the same kind of emotions right away.

Old Liquid left shoes too big to fill for this roster I think. I suppose that I could've gotten way more behind a completely new team of 5 players that I believed could become one of the best in the world, which is a feeling I don't have with this current squad. It feels to mbe as if the story of this itteration has been written in advance.

pretty much how i have been feeling about new Liquid. Also been a Liquid fan since the very first team, but somehow i really dont care all that much about these guys. i have more sympathy for new Alliance right now. Cant wait for Kuro's new team, this is a very weird time for me as a fan.

There is still talent out there .. and veterans like s4.
Build a new roster is something I would recommend liquid.

Liquid is a strong brand, I would not throw it away.

Drafter, Cap: Saksa
5th: Fishman
Off: S4
Mid: Sumail / Stormstormer
safe: tbd

There is nothing wrong with the roster. These guys can play good dota when they pull themselves togheter
. Seems like most people problem is that their hearth is with the Kuro stack, and now watching Liquid doesn't feel the same. Its acatually weird - i was pretty pissed @ Kuro @ first for jumping into the deep and forsing himself to think for so many things other than dota. But seems like that doesn't change my favourite team. And it looks like it is not an organisation but players. I still like Liquid, and there was nothing better than the Previous Roster + the org, now we will not have both togheter, we will be sad, but like it or not thats how it is.

New TL vs New Alliance once again, it's slowly becoming a classic tbh. Who is the best EU team: alliance have been stronger but Liquid has a solid chance to prove everyone wrong here.

Yeah I hope we can beat them but I'm not confident we can (right now). They've definitely had the upper hand in all previous matches. Gonna take something special from the boys!
