But if they win, they'll win TI - a joke when they were getting crushed my Liquid But turns out to be true, That win and the LB bracket run were great for morale and momentum And in the GF Newbee were supposed to have it, be rested that that brutal outdraft G1 killed them pretty much

After that game nothing surprised me , our play ingame was on the same level of VP/LFY/Newbee we weren't really better than them overall. But this team had such incredible strategic depth, kuro kept pulling strat after strat they played over the year (GH Rubick for example ) had some great starts in the pocket they clearly scrimmed a lot with (terror blade , bara+Rubick roam of death, sardar + naix they played loads before ) And GH especially was on Bulldog TI3 level of unbanable dominance. And the momentum oh boy... VP tilted from their loss in WB. LFY shook by their game2 loss where they got their comfort heroes still got rolled . And our near comeback game1 was HUUGE for momentum Newbee completely shaken after game1 they prepared for so long for ...the grand final was over right there and they crumbled mentally , couple of guys were literally on the verge of tears after game2 We did to LFY , LGDand Newbee exactly what iG did to us That game 1 draft shook Liquid, threw us mentally but they rose up and did the same thing to all 3 Chinese teams later Seems Newbee prepared for KoTL a lot as they didn't ban it. But kuro got 'em by never picking it ![]()

Defining moment of the finals for me was the GH Echo Slam to save Miracle at 2% health, then he Omnislashes and instagibs two heroes.

I sense a Post-TI1 Navi era from Liquid Yeah this team still has a lot room to grow. They have the highest individual skills and had drafting advantage but their teamplay wasn't as good as some other teams had. If they can become better in that skill other teams will have hard time in TI8.

Now that Team Liquid have won The International 2017, I'm going to share a story from last year's TI. If you remember right, Team Liquid finished 8th at last TI after losing to fnatic in the loser's bracket. After the match, I went to Team Liquid's suite and talked to Mohamed Morad, the manager of the team. I obviously don't remember everything I said on that day, but it was close to "I'm sorry you couldn't make it further in the tournament. I hope you guys will be able to move on quickly and start the next season with the right mentality" and Mohamed said something like "You know Mali, this isn't the first and last time we will lose, but I can tell you that next year will be different". I asked him why he thought it would be different, but I won't write down everything he said, but 90% of it was about praising Kuro and how confident he is in his player and friend. He said that he doesn't know what would happen to the team, but he knew that Kuro would be making some changes and that whatever changes he would make, whoever he would bring to the team, Liquid would win TI7. I didn't want to be disrespectful so I didn't make any comment. I honestly thought it was just a big talk and here I am writing that Facebook post about how Mohamed and Kuro were so convinced that they would win TI7, and I could see their determination throughout the year despite their ups and downs. During DAC and Kiev Major, Mohamed was rather worried that they wouldn't get invited to TI because they weren't invited to any tournament besides EPICENTER, which they won. At DAC, I was sitting with him and Miracle and we were discussing this and Miracle was like "whatever, we will be fine". Me, personally, I just know that MATUMBAMAN and MinD_ConTroL eating spicy food at the Mars Media bootcamp is the boost that they needed to win TI ^^ Thought I should share that story. It all came back to me two or three days ago. Mohamed and Kuro were already focusing on winning TI7 right after losing TI6. They had their eyes on the aegis and they worked their ass off. While I'm more of a Chinese fan myself and you will rarely see me cheer for Liquid on Twitter, I'm really happy that those guys won, especially Kuro. He has been around for so long and went through a lot of shit. I'm glad things worked out for him at the end. Dimitri "Mali" Vallette
