DC trying out Mason was because there's quite a bit of time left till the next roster lock, and once the lock is in place they can't change the roster for six month so they want to make sure they have the roster they want.

And from what I've watched I haven't really seen too many differences in team success with Mason vs TC so I guess we'll have to see who they end up going with.
