Honestly, that's less on Dendi and more on the support play. Like it's incredibly dumb that the matches they lost against both mineski and thunder can be basically be boiled down to ganks from poor warding. Vision is a big problem and Crystallize got stranded on an island. To their credit, they played better this time around when that happened. But they need to fix that.

The scene has gotten really hard these last few years. They need to keep playing against teams from other regions even if they lose. Edit: Do not forget that NaVi getting 0 points in Minors/Majors means NaVi is in the same situation as always: waiting for the TI8 quals to get there the usual way.

Navi lacks that true position 5 who can take a step back and not worry about scoring kills for the team, but instead looking at the map and identifying the risks. I find both of Navi support to be great at ganking and team fight but fail to play the true "support" role. I have the same thoughts. Sonneiko seems to be unable to play the true 5. It almost seems like he is pressured to make things happen.

And I think his skillset and age do not suit a true 5 role either. Most successful true 5 that I know are generally more mature (i.e older) like Kuro, PPD or (recent) Puppey and so on. He's too young and hot blooded to not try and make play. A typical Navi loss is follow: 1. Opponent drafts a safe & objective-based line up 2a. Navi supports try to make play with their aggression and end up feeding too many kills or leave their cores unguarded and counter-ganked which leads to losing towers/buildings or 2b. Navi supports can't play aggressively and are left dumbfounded because they have no idea what to do next, where to ward, when to check Roshan .etc 3. Navi loses Edit: I'm not saying their supports are the only problem but in my view having a working support duo is 60-70% of a team's success. Even if you could replace Dendi with Sumail I don't think their results would be much different.

I wish for better warding and I wish Dendi didn't need quite so much assistance in lane. I get why they lane swap the sides but wonder if it happens too often.

With the 7.07 change back to one less creep, hopefully we see less dual mids as it might starve the mid's experience gain. That on top of the deny experience being much more punishing might change how viable dual mids are. Unless it exacerbates the problem and the mid lane becomes a deny-fest. :/ But yeah I agree the pos 4's really need to step it up in 706. But then again, Dendi should be used to other supports pressuring him, as it's been the case forever. (probably a little less so from ti4 to ti6)

If they go 0:2 vs OG, 2:0 vs MoF and 1:1 vs VP and OG 2:0s MoF, then navi either goes down (if they count head to head) or they have a tiebreaker with OG. Yea, I just believe OG and MoF will lose some other games. As long as NaVi wins two games, the others teams have to have an outstanding performance for what is left for NaVi to end up out.
