and game 4 at that moment VP was on a serious timer, so saving for buybacks wasnt going to save them if they didnt get new items IMO so it was ... be as strong as you can be but die and lose, or die 2 times and lose either way

Of course is hard to say that's all on Dendi considering how team oriented this game is, because is no mistery that Dendi feels a lot safer with Rodjer + Sonneiko, Rodjer is an amazing pos4 roamer and Sonneiko is always at the right place at the right time, that gives Dendi a lot more space to play the mid lane.

VP is anything but stable, their recent results are really lacking. That being said Navi also had a good results in DL outside of their 0:2 against secret. So while I wouldn't say that Navi are there yet, they are definitely looking good atm. That being said atm I'd rate Liquid Tier 1 and then have a hard time. Secret is looking strong, Newbee is looking strong, LFY and VG look good on occasion. No idea where NA stands atm. Navi is establishing themselves as the strongest CIS team atm, but that's also due to VP slumping.

Ehm for the past 6-12 months they've consistently been top 3-5 teams in the world, won ESL Hamburg, finalist in Kiev, won the Summit 7 and top 6 TI (losing to the Liquid who went on and won the whole thing). So saying that they're not consistent is quite harsh. Lets not forget the ESL Hamburg final was less than 1 month ago. I do agree that Navi aren't there yet, though they're progressing at a steady pace. However we'd need to see how they're going to do with top tier teams from other region as Navi tend to do better against CIS teams, due to similarity in style/scrimming together .etc

They need to play more and more vs European and Chinese teams, because they lack experience. But they qualified for a bunch of tournaments and so it will happen. I don't think they can win a Valve major or minor yet, but sometimes they can do better than 6th place, probably.

That being said, new Na`Vi is definitely shaping up to be close to tier 1 team. Also Dendi is back in business. He always was a player that could compete with anyone but when your team doesn't show any meaningful results for so long, motivation starts lacking and we can see this especially now. When his team started winning stuff and going toe to toe against top teams, he is suddenly back on top.

When his team started winning stuff and going toe to toe against top teams, he is suddenly back on top. VP also tied with MoF and OG in DL and got crushed by VG and NB in dotapit, where they also dropped a map vs Fnatic (I've always like EE, but Fnatic is terrible atm). It's definitely also the patch. Not trying to take away anything of Navi, they are definitely looking good and could become a contender for tier1. They are looking a lot less one-dimensional and I've been impressed by especially Dendi's performance. But I wouldn't say that winning two of three series against a team that wasn't the most stable to begin with and has been slipping up recently tells a lot. Maybe I've been on that hype train too often and am more cautious now, idk.

I don't know why they are so adamant on letting some heroes / heroes combinations through, like.. why not change the whole dynamic? Whatever.

doesn't that exist as an explanation on its own? if you've practiced against something and know you have a good grasp for how the hero works, it stands to reason that you're okay with letting it through maybe not the other team won, but they had other options aside from banning CK or something.

I have just seen this so many times happen to NaVi that I keep asking myself, is this really confidence or underestimation?
