Which is why Universe was several times more valuable, because he played heroes outside of the meta.

Well unfortunately for PPD it's biting him in the ass, this team needs way more competitive practice and I feel like the lack of presence in qualifiers and therefore competitive games is hurting them dearly after the player swap.

I couldnt agree more... This team needs more competetive practice... They destroyed the early game... Fear was everywere being an ass... But when VG.R turned the 5-man Dota on, EG did not perform, and thats were they were at theier best before. I dont understand why they dont play more around Sumail

Yeah I mean scrims are okay, but you actually need hard experience against teams throwing curveballs at you playing at their best... It's hard to blame them with Aui not at all used to being a 1 and having 4 pos. habits, bulba coming back into it and the team being new together...they need to practice their teamplay.
And all they played competitively was Weplay (6BO3) and Epicenter (5BO3) and that's freaking it... I'm not sure PPD's ego will be allowing him to see this and force him to play literally any competitive match he can, no matter how low the prize pools are

PPD declined all these invites after ti5, he cut ties with ESL after ESL New York which im sure they only went to cuz it was so close for them all. He then declined a few other tournaments in 2015 but in 2016 they have been to pretty much all but the 2nd star ladder so ? They need more practice but this team has had 3 lans now in EPICENTER, WePlay they were incorporated with a huge 4 week boot camp before weplay and after before Epicenter. They then went home missed DH which wouldn't have been invited into anyway due to online league play system for NA isn't worth it on EU servers, then they missed the ESL event which they as i said cut ties with in 2015.
After this they will play in 3 LANs before TI6. Exactly the same amount as anyone else only missing out again in Frankfurt ESL which seems to again be poorly timed by ESL.
BTS 5 - NanYang are confirmed with StarLadder in Murica probably their 3rd lan before TI6, so they have as much as anyone else and pretty much the max amount of time to play, you can't get anymore unless they play online cups for no reason when im sure scrimming is better than that.

I write this in GD (about 6 weeks ago) and in Secret (about 4 weeks ago) but i guess its relevant here
im not sure but secret and other teams could sing up for more online leagues, those really help.
in csgo you can see navi, lg, astralis, etc... playing online qualifiers ALL the time, almost no team is invited right away to big tournaments (besdies major to major in the leged status). Ok there are some tournaments with invite system but almost every week that theres not a tournament you can see top teams battling each other in some league
Im not sure why but feels like that playing qualifiers (or online leagues for all that matter) is like "bad" in dota 2, like if you do those you must suck and whatsoever. Secret is 5-11 with this line up and has yet to win a single boX
Scrims are good and whatnot, but you need some of the real deal to keep you on your toes, that theres actually something to lose on the line
Just change Secret for EG and adjust numbers and gg, its the same shit

Watching Aui perform the bot "I'm running away! No, wait, I'm coming to fight! No, I'm running away!" in the latter half of that last game was painful to watch. I'd love to watch him playing position 1 with confidence, but it doesn't look like it's there at the moment.
