However that isn't happening either, this EG team is the EG team until after TI6 im 90% certain of that.

I mean honestly, NA region is not hard, its hardly the blood bath that EU/CIS region is.
So if EG decides to change roster and going through open qualis, unless a HUGE fuck up, i see them in ti6 100% either way

I really hope that their team morale is in a good place. I would love to see EG start grinding out tons of onlines and stuff.
Tough loss but I hope they can come back strong!

Unless it is two spots then a bit more of a lifeline but still.

i mean, DC and Col arent pushovers but they are getting invited i guess

But if EG gives up its invite than it will automatically go to DC or Complexity (who might also make the US region get a second direct invite), leaving the place for a weaker qualifier for EG (and let's face it if you can't qualify from that region what chances do you have to actually make it far in the main tournament).

EG is shit. Secret is shit. MVP Phoenix is stronk. The east will win TI6 and the cycle continues. Better luck in the fall with whatever major is after the international.

You know what I hate more about EG losing this bo1. It wasn't that they lost, it was a throw. They clearly dominated the early laning stage, and they all just fucking sucked. Their team coordination was terrible. IDK it's heartbreaking to see EG like this.

Reposting my thoughts from the team secret thread.
I think post major, Zai is gonna end up becoming 3 pos for EG. Bulba will go back to a coaching/sub role and Aui back to 4, now that the experiment of him playing carry has thoroughly failed. Old man Fear will be back to carry. This way, they can perform well in upcoming tournaments and not screw up any chance for securing an invite by kicking/adding new players, since zai is already a registered sub.
As for Secret, their future is extremely questionable. There is nothing they can do to their roster (except moving 1437 to a playing position which is unlikely). Any change they make will cause them to lose the chance to be even invited to the qualifiers, and put a couple of top players teamless. Right now there are no free agents (zai is questionable since he is a registered sub for EG), who Secret can pick up.
Best case scenario, they just stick together and enter a bunch of qualifiers and figure out their playstyle by going through the grind. Worst case scenario, they make more roster changes and end up getting knocked out of the open qualifiers in a BO1 by a random team pulling a cheese strat.
Excited to see what the post major season holds (though there is no transfer window).

yeah i'm sure thats not gonna happen.

sometimes teams suck, it happens. back to 2013 EG :D

I hate to bash on Aui, but so much of what he does outside of the laning stage is just bad... He clearly know how to farm, theres no problem there, he knows how to be the #1 networth on most carry heroes, but he just doesnt do enough with it. After 15 mins we never felt the presence of a super farmed jugger... He would still just die in 2 secons, before using Omni, or just die while spinning... Same at Epicenter, he would be super farmed with Naix, and still do almost nothing... He does not make the the right desitions in the big fights, or he just getts caught out. This loss is not all on him, but in the end of epicenter, weplay and now the manila major, he sticks out as the weakest player to me. Bulba is not alott better, but he usually getts his job done before dieing imo.
Getting zai into this team is crucial for them making a big impact at TI imo... I wonder if the have the balls to make the changes needed.
I know its unlikely, but I would like to see changes done: Zai into the team, either as support or offlane, swapping out either aui or bulba (they could both move to support if needed). As stated, I think the team has the most problems with Aui past laning stage, best change would be: 1 Fear 2 Sumail 3 Zai 4 Bulba 5 ppd (Both zai and bulba can play either 3 or 4)

Zai doesn't fit the 4 with how EG are playing it right now.
But, as I thought going into the major, there just wasn't even time to correct the obvious team play issues.
Also, everyone needs to stop thinking zai will be playing for EG. I'm almost sure he won't be. Kaipi will likely be going through the open/qualifiers since no one has picked up SingSing and crew.
EG got what they needed, a hard kick in the ass. Either, get better, or go ahead and quit like VG.

As stated, I know its unlikely, but as a spectator and fan I feel that this version of EG will not be good enough to make a good placing in the upcoming TI. I am not confident that Aui will fix his teamfighting abilities fast enough, but I do hope that I am wrong. He needs to practice hard... And even study some of the other carry players around, watch theier movement and desitions in fights.

We'll bring it back boys

I don't think Fear's wrist allows him to play carry any more so the role swap might be down the drain. Unless you're really into dramatic anime where the old man carries his team to yield the aegis once more but collapses and dies on his path to the podium *tears*, it won't happen.
Chances of EG making significant changes to their roster that might affect their TI invite status are also non-existent or slim at best. Like it or not TI still means a LOT of money to each player's pockets. Last year if you're in top 12 (out of 16 teams), you're guaranteed at least $200 grands (that's $40 grand each player approx.) with hardly any sweats. So yea, if anything they will probably make the adjustments after TI. I've noticed people mentioning the open qualifier route but let's face the facts: (i) there is still risk - no matter how low, and (ii) most if not all of good players are already locked with teams by now.
