How can you ban vs him when they can decide to just make him play mid, and have him apparently also be a tier 1 mid player as well as everything else.

He did really well in a 1v1 mid tournament a couple years ago. He has skills there.

I remember that fear puck vs s4 qop game, it was BTS Fistful of Tangoes final, and there was the epic moment where s4 tries to bait out the phase shift with sonic wave, but Fear was having none of it.

Step 1: Give RTZ a carry mid. Give Fear a playmaking hero. Give PPD a defensive support. Give Zai a greedy support. Give Universe.....anything. Step 2: RTZ gets decent to good farm mid. PPD babysits Fear at bot lane, allowing Fear with free farm. Zai jungling somewhere. Universe being Universe. Step 3: Fear, Universe, and PPD creates space for RTZ. Zai helps out once in a while, otherwise he farms. Step 4: RTZ #1 net worth. Fear, Universe and Zai are just behind the enemy's carry. PPD is last in net worth. Step 5: Win

EG most common strategy.... These days it's give RTZ a hardcarry in the safe lane or even the jungle! And fear plays mid with a playmaker. They definitely aren't playing lane positions, but farming positions these days. If puck QOP etc become the norm mid (which there is something of a trend away from farming mids as really hard safelane carries like AM come back into the meta), i bet we don't see too much of RTZ playing mid from now on.

One generic strategic direction with a wide variety of hero combinations to mix and match. I'd say that's a very flexible team :D But yea fear has been increasingly played mid, while rtz plays the traditional carry role. Also zai doesn't play that greedy of supports anymore, but still the net worth thing stays :D

Are you excited to play VG at The Summit 2? I don't really care. I wish the old DK was there. That old DK was so fun to play. How long will you be playing Dota? I'll probably play for 2... 3 more years, maybe more. Thoughts on Cloud 9? The top 3 western team. How did EE change? EE changed because now he loses tournaments and begs his fans to vote him into the redemption thing, that's how he changed. Old Jacky Mao would win the tournament first place... fuck that guy. While you're at it, please vote for Jacky. Why do you think Team Tinker is not performing well? Okay, I'll give the real talk, because I don't particularly like some of them... but I will be nice at the same time. Their players aren't out-of-the-world skilled. They have strong players, but they're not way better than other players. The hype behind the team was false already, so maybe the hype got to them at the beginning. They don't have a strong support players either. When you just have average players in an average team with no leadership to add, it just becomes a shitty ass version of Liquid, that's just real talk at the end of the day. If you are expecting more, it's kind of like being fanboys. There's nothing special about them at all. I'm not even flaming, I'm just saying the truth. I think Bulba is a good core, but he's not a good support player. I think EGM needs a sort of a Zai role, he has to be a core and a support at the same time, and he really can't do that because Bulba can't play 5. Singsing can't play offlane, and his mid hero pool is not updated to this meta and he doesn't play safelane so you have that issue. Then you have Qojqva who only plays certain heroes in lane... farming. I don't know, they're not fit to play [together]. By the way, just cause I'm criticizing other people does not mean I'm a perfect player. I have my faults. What's his thoughts on Fata's addition to Cloud 9? C9 is definitely better with Fata. They had internal issues before. What is it about this patch that makes it not as fun as previous patches? All the heroes I play I've played so much already, so there's no point in playing it in pubs. There's really nothing else to innovate. I really don't think there's much innovation left in Dota 2 besides gamestyle, like gameplay, and all this shit you can only practice with your team. There's a lot of different kind of game styles, but I can't really practice that in pubs. Is Secret a better team than EG? There's actually no way. I think Secret is a really strong team, but there is no way you can say they are better than us at the moment, because they haven't beaten us or only came close to beating us. I do think they a a really good team. We're both either tied for 1st [on the West] or they're 2nd and we're 1st. We're even-ish if anything. What do you think of Meracle? The SEA scene is not that competitive. They play against Tier 2/3 teams and Team Malaysia are questionable. But I did learn a lot from his Naga. I give him credit. It will be interesting to play against him in The Summit 2. Why are you doing bad in DotaCinema's Captain's Draft Tournamnet? Half of us don't want to play in lux. We pick silly lineups when we play lux, and we win when we play East. We go into lux games mentally defeated, but we want to change that mentality. We need to win a series to secure a spot in the playoffs. Favorite patch: MLG Columbus. Midas OD. I actually enjoyed Dota back then, now I fucking hate it actually. Heroes he wants to be in the meta: TA, SF, Terrorblade, OD. On Alliance: They're average this patch. On Ferrari_430: Ferrari is a GOD On 1v1 tournaments: It doesn't really matter I think. Just because S4 won doesn't mean he's the best mid player, even though I think he's up there. On Newbee: Newbee seems pretty lost this patch. But they won WCA. On Starladder X: We didn't deserve to win. We practiced for like 30 minutes while some teams practiced more than us. But our loss in the Winners Bracket finals against Team Secret helped us in the finals. We watched replays and figured out how to counter their Tidehunter and Elder Titan co mbo. We wouldn't have won if we faced Na'Vi in WB finals and faced Team Secret in the grand finals. Will EG win TI5? "If TI5 was tomorrow and we won, I would kill myself actually. We don't really practice that much right now." just in case nobody posted this yet. http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/2ly8q4/arteezy_real_talk_qa_transcript/

While Universe and Zai are still really, really good, I think fear is performing at the highest lvl in the western scene lately! And I do want to add, ppd and rtz are also playing really well. Ppd with amazing drafts (most of the time) and sacrifical play. And rtz always finds his farm, and rtz's play in teamfights etc. is getting better all the time. Im such a Fear fanboy tho ![]()
