Depends on the goal. Continuing the hype from a previous series, bad. Getting people to see last 4 days good since all games are on weekends.

Same format as league. I assume it is for increased viewership overall. More watchers on weekends than on weekdays.

What a series. Can't believe the boys mustered the mental fortitude for that.

Oh man! Loving this journey!! What a series vs Thunder

The rollercoaster Liquid must have been going through in that series is beyond imagination. Losing game 1 in such a way would have been the nail in the coffin for many other teams, stomping game 2 and in game 3 basically one HP away from being eliminated. No matter the outcome of the series against Aster, Liquid has performed extremely well and gave us some of the most memorable games. Still hoping they can pull through to the Grand Final and giving Matu the setup he deserves for his final tournament.

What a great day of dota. Whatever problems the tournament has, the dota has been amazing.

China players must learn English, so that they can listen to sound casting that reveal the opponents.
Commentator: Tusk is moving to Midlane... Nisha, Puppey & team: !!! XinQ, y, Ame, Faith_bian: ???

sea and sa must learn a lot in decision making, they really suck on it
SEA is occupied by pinoy, other SEA players must obey majority pinoys decision if not either leave or being kick out. So far the greats achievement by SEA team was by Malaysian team, Orange & Fnatic. See how Yopaj and Jackyboy, jackyboy has to play at his own most of the time while Yopaj will get most support from teammates, cos Yopaj is pinoy but jackyboy is Cambodian

Best 4 remaining:
2 actually from Last Chance qualifiers, means they actually out but they are given survival card.
Few things: 1. The organiser can control who they want, they are actually the decider. 2. Those have played LCQ get better understanding of the games, maybe they are more exposure in competitive games prior to TI 3. Usually the winner come from lower bracket, not sure is that more games u played, u got more advantages. The really have to think about 1 game advantage for winner side.

Lot of crap you have posted here..the allegations that SEA is being hold down by them and BOOM is intentionally giving Yopaj a better game because they are racist who do not want that a malaysian player is having success is really harsh.
Secret and Liquid earned their spot, bringing back the LCQ was imho the best idea Valve had in a long time. Wildcard-Matches have been part of the TI till 2017.
Out from ten TI, only three teams did win when coming from the lower bracket, EG(2015), Liquid(2017) and Team Spirit(2021), so no need to give the first finalist an advantage, they already have an advantage by playing only one series and not two on the same day within a short timeframe.

Man the final two days are gonna be hype! The upper bracket matchup is super interesting - on one hand Tundra are huge dota nerds and one week of preparation is really scary to go against. On the other hand, Secret have been hot since the LCQ and have a lot of big stage experience whereas Tundra have traditionally not looked as solid in front of big crowds. Then there is Aster as the last chinese team in the lower bracket against Liquid trying to win the last few games for matu. All the western european teams will have some sort of second TI win if they make it all the way: puppey and matu as 2x TI winner, Aui as 1x player 1x coach.

Wildcard matches did exist but LCQ is not really wildcard matches, even though with respect to TI qualification, the end result is the same. Yet LCQ is a pre-TI for the teams, with full group stage and bracket even to the point where no team is eliminated without playing a group stage and Bo3 -- meanwhile TI main stage still has those Bo1s! So some teams are able to test and hone their team identities in the LCQ, and it turned out to be very fortuitous for Secret and Liquid.
Also important since there have been huge shifts in meta since ESL Genting Malaysia and Arlington Major, you could tell the two teams came in with a stronger draft understanding than the majority of the other teams.
Even though I said all of this I do want LCQ to stay, it was very fun to watch.

It also ramps up the hype imo, underdogs battling during the wildcard, then battle royal for the group stage and eventually increasingly elite matches with higher and higher stakes. Not that I would watch all the wildcard qualifiers even when I was following dota closely but a good story telling is so important in (e)sports and adding a wildcard helps a lot in that regard, I don't know the exact expenses to pay the travel for extra teams though.
