Winning underdog is fine, but when underdogs keep popping up while consistent teams keep falling apart means something wrong with the format. Of course, volvo punishes consistent teams with new drastic patch before TI thus TI is riddled with teams disposing their previous strategy and still figuring meta. Surprise is nice when it is unexpected, but team spirit and tundra winning leave a bad taste in my mouth. Tundra haven't been doing that bad, they only bombed out at Arlington. I would agree that Valve tinkers with the patches too much before TI, but this has been a norm since arguably TI3 or TI4. Just that it was especially bad this year with Marci and Primal Beast.

Tundra winning was only a small surprise given their form apart from the Arlington Major. And 2nd and 3rd were both heavyweight teams.

My pre-tournament prediction was for spirit, now they're in the lower bracket I don't think they'll make it - would be epic to see though. In reality I don't want to get my hopes up for EG, I'm happy they made it through groups and gave us some good games. I'm gonna go with Tundra as my prediction.

Tundra were no underdogs, just haven’t performed well in lan in the past. I agree new patches may be too close to TI though, but idk how the players feel.
