Not sure where the notion of "he is not very popular anymore" comes from..
And emp-tornado is basically the only way these chinese plays them. Only Recca from Starsboba goes Quas/Exort if i'm not wrong and he goes a very weird build like blinkdagger first or something like that.
Not saying that invoker can only be played the Emp/tornado style but it is clearly superior when compared to exort builds in a proper game.
??? clearly a lot of teams have decided not to pick invoker and win against it anyway. theres plenty of very strong heroes as it is now and invoker is just one of many. Auto-lose is a slight exagerration. He obviously does not have 100 percent win rate. But invoker is still extremely strong as opposed to just one of many or "not very popular anymore" as someone said earlier. In the WGT, he is almost always banned, He is probably top 3 most banned heroes together with lycan/bear. According to one Chinese commentator (I forget if it was 2009 in PCGL or 820 in G-League), current banning strategies are focused around banning against players and teams, rather than against a specific hero, and that there's not really auto-lose/auto-win heroes. Invoker still stays high on the ban lists because many top teams have well-practiced Invoker players like DK's rotk or iG's 430, not necessarily because the hero itself is too strong.

One good thing I can say is at least they don't just interrupt you in the middle of a game, let you finish it out before it goes down.

MOBA -- Multiplayer Online Battle Arena What competitive game isn't multiplayer, online, and takes on some sort of battle? The first three words apply to nearly every single online game that pits players against each other (obviously). The fourth word, arena, doesn't even describe the DotA-genre. Using that word implies an all-hostile area that dismisses DotA's territorial control and lane-pushing among its many facets of gameplay. Even RTSRPG would be a better (yet still lacking) acronym. If anything, use DotA as a genre of its own, or use its original form, AoS (Aeon of Strife). Please help stop the widespread use of the vague term MOBA!
my friend likes to call it a "laning" game. What do you guys think? Suitable enough? XD

Am I this bad at this game or is the match making too wide or is it that the game is still in beta? I´m tired of being matched with people first picking antimage but haven´t got a clue on how to lasthit or farm. Of people who in a lineup of spectre, gondar, naix thinks riki is a good pick, or anyone else totally gimped in lane. People who dies 5 times in lane during the first 10 minutes and starts blaming mid for not ganking. Suicidal huskars and barathrums. Dual ranged lanes managing to feed a solo riki. The list goes on and on, and if you ever for a second think you can predict a natural progression of a game, you are sorely mistaken. One thing I have realized, and that is that you never stop being amazed by the things you get to see when going solo mm.

The matchmaking is still WIP and there are many people first timing/coming from low level in other games. It should stabilize after realease, don't expect too much from the beta.
