I know Blizz just announced region locking for SC2, but what other game is region locked now? Searching for league region locking just brings up threads about how you can't play on multiple regions with one account.

Can't make it in Korea, well go to some other region and see if you can beat those teams. Not super healthy if your trying to grow each region. Didn't bother to read the exact rules but...doesn't that kill the potential team diversity, too? Like, so many DotA teams are extremely international and cross-regional. VG, C9, EG, Team Tinker...

I think its a fine compromise. However they could use some more international tournaments but that would destroy the illusion that NA is worth anything against Korea.

Well one way to make 100% sure they will never catch up is to import all the B-teamers from the dominate region to crush them. It would be super bad for LoL because their league provide money for the teams to find housing and everything else. This is just stuff to make sure the game remaining intresting for spectators, just like drafting all pro sports and salary caps/spending limits.

One game, have sky / rubick / ember trilane, invoker mid, BH offlane. Both BH and invoker are uncharacteristcally good at their heroes, sky is controlling our support rotations and ember is farming well. Come the end of the game, everyone is super fucking positive in chat and it's one big happy circlejerk. Next game, random offlane BB, different invoker mid, furion woods and veno/rubick (coreless safelane best safelane) bottom. Before everyone's even finished picking, BB is flaming venomancer because "He's the drow from last game ull see", furion is flaming BB for randoming and everyone already mad at everyone else. By 3 minutes veno has missed both his gales on a telekinesis'd target because of what looked like ~400 ping. By 10 minutes bristle has died 4 times from random dives against a trilane, and by 15 minutes invoker is flaming me, furion is flaming the whole team over mic, veno is flaming bristleback, and bristle is defending against claims of him feeding by saying "Its a trilane I'm supposed to die" and deflecting to venomancer, when not just flaming in response. By 25 minutes the game was lost, though we hadn't really seen the defeat screen yet. It wasn't -actually- unwinnable till ~20 minutes, but for all the flaming going on it was clear that noone really believed that. Game after that? support WK / jakiro / sniper trilane, viper mid, tide off. WK is legitimately one of the best support duo's I've ever played with, he chains stuns and plays almost perfectly. Sniper is farming well, viper's keeping DP off the tier 1, and tide's keeping us posted on how AM's farm is progressing. Like the first game, everone is super coordinated, on the same page, and playing their roles well. Game, again, ends with many compliments and basically a circlejerk.
