Here's to hoping Valve gives out a shit load of keys in the near future to garner more growth. Well, if I recall correctly, one of the grand finals recently (think it was DignitasCup or The Defense) attracted 30,000 viewers. This is pretty big considering this game is still in beta.
The Defense finals attained 50,000 viewers.

50000 is an estimate. I think tobi's stream got like 38k, and there were other streams with like russian commentary that made up the rest.

PPTV has reported stream numbers of 300,000+ for G-1 League matches, which absolutely dwarfs any stream numbers for Western events. I don't even think that number even accounts for alternate and restreams.

I'm trying to find a decent guide to play storm spirit but I can't really seem to find one that summarizes shit well enough. Anyone happen to know one?

LoL is a bubble in my opinion. You can only pump so much absurd amounts of money into tournaments.
I agree that LoL is -huge- right now, but I feel that -- especially if Dota 2 is free to play -- Dota 2 will eventually overcome it. It just has a lot more going for it, especially with the absolutely massive playerbase in China that will be moving over.
Anyways, we shouldn't be saying "I hope DotA 2 beats LoL" but "I hope DotA 2 is successful"

Treads Some sort of mana regen -> usually bottle if mid + aquila or pers if you find that you need a Linkens Wand if you find yourself participating alot in fights Yasha into S&Y or Manta depending on what you're against Ethereal Blade Butterfly Heart/Satanic/Skadi BKB/Linkens if necessary

If we are talking competitively, then DotA 2 has already beaten LoL. Money-wise in tournaments, dota 2 will also start beating LoL at some point, but I don't see DotA 2 beating LoL in # of players. I can see LoL having more sponsors as well, because the player base and stream views attract sponsors like mad. The skill curve in dota is much higher, and will push casual players (the majoirty of the player base) away. I have about 50 friends who play LoL quite a lot, 10 of whom play competitively, but only 2-3 of them understand and enjoy DotA because of the skill curve.
If/When china moves to dota 2, it will gain a huge playerbase, and that will be awesome! I agree, it doesn't matter if we beat them, and I would rather LoL player's stayed away from dota =P Both games support ESPORTS, and that is the important part.

You can always do the Crazy Mofo Alpino build ->
treads -> dominator -> skadi -> ethereal blade -> butterfly -> satanic
How to play the Crazy Mofo:
1 - Remember to keep at 1 str and full agi to farm like a mofo and DO NOT GET INTO FIGHTS while you have like 400 hp. Using morph(+STR obv) when you do fight is key.
2 - Get into won team fights to steal your friend`s kills with waveform and get your kill streak on while increasing:
A) The rage in your buddies B) The money in your pocket
3 - Don`t appear too much in the map, 400hp is not tanky at all. Wait for your skadi and own shit up.
Crazy Mofo Hard Mode:
All divines after Skadi. :D
(Well I used to do that build years ago when Skadi and Dominator stacked, they still do? A lot of time since I even made a Skadi t_t )

* I wouldn't recommend getting Linken's Sphere as a core item. Its cost to stat ratio is abysmal when Butterfly or Eye provide better or comparable stats for the same cost. If you really need the Spellblock, I'd recommend farming a BKB or something. It's still a solid situational pick however and it's not *bad* to go for, I just think there might be better items.
** Ethereal Blade is a *great* item on Morphling at any stage in the game since it turns you into a really powerful single-target nuker. Due to Adaptive Strike's scaling with agility, the E-Blade doing damage based on your current agility, and the ability to morph strength to agility, pretty much any squishy support or carry (if no BKB) is going to die. Period. It makes you into a glass cannon however and runs the risk of being nuked down. Be smart, don't get this if the enemy has Lina, Lion, or a similar nuker.
*** This is a less common build and I haven't tested it personally, but since you can disassemble SnY, it seems like a great temporary measure if you're having trouble getting your Manta and other big items up. The Diffusal Blade helps with ganking and ups your damage output, since you should have a really high AS. Just remember that this is a situational pick and, just like with E-Blade, you've gotta be smart about it.
**** Most high level games I see with Morphling start out with Treads. I've never seen a BoT on a Morphling at a high level before 30 minutes or so at earliest. If your farming is amazing however, you can skip treads to get BoT so that you can quickly farm other lanes or go back to base to heal then replicate back.
EDIT: @ Alpino: Since the 6.74 changes to Morphling, I don't think the stats build is worth going any more. With level 2 Morph, you get equivalent boosts to two levels in stats. Might as well go more like this: + Show Spoiler +Waveform Morph Waveform Morph Waveform Morph Waveform Morph Adaptive Strike Replicate Replicate Adaptive Strike Adaptive Strike Adaptive Strike Stats Replicate As well, don't actually leave your strength at 1 constantly. That's an easy way to get ganked HARD. Keep it low enough that you can focus on damage, but high enough that if you do get ganked, you actually have time to respond. If you do get ganked, you have a few escape options: Waveform out, Morph all of your agility to strength for a "heal", and Replicate.

I'm usually very much for HotD on a lot of heroes in pubs but I do not see any reason to get it on Morph anytime soon. I guess the idea of your build is to be able to clear the jungle? Waveform is one of the best skills in the game for lane farming and the other abilities of Morph lets you escape most uncoordinated ganks, particularly so if you've chosen to get a Linkens. Furthermore your build idea means you have to play fairly passively during the first 20 minutes of the game or so which is probably one of the easiest ways of losing pubs. (unless the opposition is just really low-skill)

Yeah you`re right, the Crazy Mofo build is supposed to be played with with decently skilled friends which will help holding the early game for you. It`s not a very good build but its fun as fuck!

Replace HotD+Skadi with Linken, and you have a more common build that accomplishes pretty much the same thing 3k gold sooner.

Against good competive teams morph needs to go bkb into hotd and then damage item other wise he will have huge problems. Linkens is only good for pubs or teams that lack stuns.
