I think what's going to happen will be similar to what Jaedong says about SCII: he'll switch if/when he can gain more from the sequel than he can from Brood War. For the Chinese, I suspect this switch won't occur till the heroes they like are mostly in the pool (pool is mostly complete). Again, I'm just speculating. I'm barely informed, so don't take my words at face value. I also want to point out China #1

Because they like their own game as it is and they don't want to play a yet incomplete game with a limited hero pool ow yeah and China hates steam probably, I hope Valve does this well.

I guess pirating the game is the main concern but is that really it? I'd love to see some chinese teams just come into dota2 and just rofl stomp na'vi. Is it possible?

Is it possible? dota1 meta is more fun, by far. if china picked up dota2, and given a good amount of semi secretive practice, they could do it.

Medusa impression: whole game: 1 skill, yellow stat, a move... -_- nothing to see here On March 19 2012 10:50 Senx wrote: So do the chinese have a different playstyle or a more deep understanding of the game that is making the limited hero pool of dota2 a reason to not switch? I guess pirating the game is the main concern but is that really it? I'd love to see some chinese teams just come into dota2 and just rofl stomp na'vi. Is it possible? we are talking about the country that love warcraft III like they love their music, players are Idols. Pretty much similar to korean and BW but China is much bigger than korea @_@... Pretty sure every single PC bang in china(or internet cafe) has war3 install on it (illegally ofc) and dota just wide spread together with war3. Especially once blizzard gave up on balancing war3 while dota is keep on growing with new contents and balance patches. The main reason no one is switching is bc the lack of infrastructure. Internet in asia sucks and expensive and as the same time even though most house hold own a PC, they are often outdated and cant run the latest software game and in this case its dota2. Remember before the International Valve had to send these players PCs so that they could practice for the tournaments. The moment the chinese will officially switch will probably when LAN mode is released and the game became F2P. Thats like 1 year from now at least if you think about the current price reduction rate in computer parts.

In Starcraft there is Korea in Dota, there is China, that is the easiest way to put it. edit: prolly not what you meant., sorry for that.

Razor lost his touch ![]() I think during that period Icefrog was trying to differentiate overly similar skills. IIRC that's also around the time when he went through the effort of differentiating Sven/VS/SK stuns, as well as Riki/PA/CK's Blink Strikes.

Look at razor at that period, sooooooo sad @_@.......... My favorite hero was the old storm.... static charge every X attack, DPS all the way ![]()
