That usually comes down to knowledge of heroes and matchups, knowledge of your own team's strengths and weaknesses, and knowledge of your opponent's style and tendencies, plus being able to compile all of that knowledge within the draft clock. Which is usually more about time, research, and preparation than talent. the draft structure before (6 bans total first phase) made it easier to our draft an opponent than it is now in it's current form.
(Keep in mind I'm also taking whatever the patch/meta in that period as well into account)

Valve's "Very High" skill bracket is so varied, you actually see people who only autoattack creeps. That is a shame. You realize that if people are good enough to actually have a really high hidden MMR they would be on the top of the Watch list all the time for their games right? It's not like there's absolutely no way at all to figure out how good a player is just because it's hidden in your profile and because there's bad players in the "very high" bracket.
top of the Watch list means very little when stacks have supermegaultra high combined MMR
as for the solo queuers who get into such games, well... Sucks to be them.

top of the watchlist hi5 stancel if you believe that top ranked in ixdl are good, you're mistaken some are tho, but most of them dont know what theyre doing

There's a pretty huge skill gap between the pros/really good ixdl players and then the rest.

Mini posted on twitter best of luck to his teammates (link, crit-, noia, hestejoe). Could he be set to join another team?

I missed most of iceiceice's last stream, did he say that YamateH is going to retire? Cuz the chat made it sounds like he's at least leaving Zenith.

A drafter can only use what the team's practiced or what his players give him to work with. Is Puppey considered a genius drafter because he's 90% inconsiderate to what his teammates can play? Puppey drafts to counter the other team's line-up, thinking several steps ahead most of the time. Alliance drafts things they are comfortable with and beats you with it because they are so familiar with the heroes. That's the difference between the two teams.
I think it's more that Puppey used to have an extremely flexible team where as these days he doesn't have that yet he hasn't really adapted the way he drafts as well as he could have to suit the new team.

He was also a member of Fnatic.NA at one point.

Can people please stop Derailing the thread! This is not a place to talk about drafts or LOL or strategy! There are enough threads for that! If you have no drama or speculation to do please shut up and give a rest to your typing hand!
