why does everyone on TL think DeMoN is bad? lol

If Fear really wanted to kick Jeyo and DeMoN, he would and could. Thing is, atm he doesn't want to and wont.

Well I know for sure DeMoN is bad at hooks, I've seen them in game personally.

When you have an awesome carry player like Fear, you value stability over everything else. Other teams don't have that same dynamic and would be thrilled to have a more risky, flashy solo mid for the sake of getting the snowball underway (see Na'Vi, for example), but I really don't think that's what EG needs right now.

I don't see Fear abandoning Demon because they're close friends but even still, it's something Fear has been trying to work around for a long time now in terms of meshing demon's high risk...medium reward play into the team. plus Fear's not invulnerable to tilts either but who is?

ATM they have defaulted into the strongest team in China, and given how roster setbacks will affect teams as they learn to play together (further increasing mistakes) they already have an advantage an established team. Realistically, a Vici that retains their strongest players SHOULD be one of the top 3 chinese teams come a month from now. The question after that is if other teams would surpass them. Apparently Cty has attitude problems and this has led to personality clashes. It's still a rumor at this point though.

Strange thing about that lineup is that most of them are slotted into too few roles. Demon, Jeyo, Universe, and Brax are all generally 2-3 position players, to the best of my knowledge. MSS (despite having already announced that his family has forbidden him from entering competitive DOTA2) is the only person that regularly plays support, perhaps along with Fear, who is an amazing 1 position player. It could very well be that a few of their roles will end up feeling forced and ineffective. We'll have to wait and see. Jeyo seems to have embraced the 4/5 pretty well, and its reasonable to assume the 5th will also be a support. Fear/Demon/Universe/Jeyo/XXX Has he been shifting? I haven't watched his stream in a long time, and last time I saw him in competitive, he was 2 position mid. It would certainly help with EG's new lineup if he could be relied upon for support. Now, if only they could get Brax, they'd have a fantastic 3 position who could mop up if Demon started to throw and help clear the space Fear needs in order to become unstoppable. Not meaning to trash Universe's offlane play, but I've regarded Brax with a sort of reverence since that TI3 game where he blocked a pull camp for like ten minutes as Clockwerk. They switched to try to give Bamboe a spot where he doesn't feed. It didn't work and they switched back.

Nothing you said there contradicts anything I've said. The issue with Demon is that he throws a lot and isn't an ace mid the rest of the time. Even in only the NA scene, I'd rather have Korok, Bulba, TC, Arteezy, EE, or Jeyo over him. Even Sneyking manages to do the flashy mid thing better. If he cools his jets and starts playing reliably, I'd love to see him on the new EG. That hasn't happened yet, though, so he's still lackluster in my opinion.

To be honest EE has really proved himself, hate him or love him. KP is certainly formidable and ultimately Loda was right thus far that even when EE-Sama was kicked off the team, he's still prevalent and very much dedicated. He's consistent if anything else and that's admirable.
|
I bet people who flame Demon doesn't even watch him play. This is TL forum so I understand the bias but watch the match up between Korok and Demon midlane, Korok lost his lane to Demon way more often than Demon lost to Korok. That's Demon strength, he doesn't lose his lane. His game decision making and his positioning in the later phase of the game however is flat out bad, and that's his big weaknesses.
I don't like him on EG either after I saw him playing LoL with girls. I always think of him as the main reason that EG didn't get the invite. Still, when I watch his stream or his pov in the tournament match, he is just very skilled. And if you watch him play lately on ixdl, he just doesn't lose his lane and he is actually beating rtz mid. For me this is the main reason Fear is keeping him.
Seriously people who hate on him needs to watch his stream just to see how good he is at least in laning stage especially mid. I agree that he's the one that hold the team back not in skill area but in the commitment to the team overall. If he can change his attitude EG will do a lot better.

i don't doubt Demon's skill level I doubt his ability to care.

I don't know as much about his teamwork, as his stream games make him out to be kind of difficult to play alongside, but maybe he's fine for his teammates. He's also cursed with having a fairly hard-to-decipher voice, poor guy.

I watch alot of doto.
I wasn't surprised at the standings in ti3, i think most people who honestly watch and know the scene where not surprised at a navi/alliance final. the only surprise at ti3 was orange.
i watch ALOT of american doto... cause i am an american.
Demon is one of the most skilled american players. GG NR.
To be honest his reputation as a "Throw all the time OMG" is WAY over rated. I would say he is a top 3 NA mid. You could even argue that he is the BEST NA mid.
But at the end of the day, despite being an amazing player... he is a fucking douchebag.
