Welcome to the official TL thread for Dota Radio! After one of our fans shared our project on reddit, we thought a post on TL would be appropriate as well!
What is Dota Radio? Dota Radio is an internet radio station that streams live Dota 2 commentary instead of music.
Our radio-style of Dota 2 commentary is catered to listeners that have no visual feed, which means our style is more descriptive about visual aspects, like hero level, ability cooldowns, item pickups, and lane positioning than any other stream on Twitch.
It's also a great mobile-friendly, low-bandwidth alternative for enjoying live Dota 2 content while you're stuck at work or driving in your car when a big tournament is happening.

We made this silly infomercial to talk about all of the details:
Right now we are doing daily coverage of Starladder Season 7 at 11:00am EST everyday. We will also be covering portions of the MLG North American tournaments.
Full unedited radio broadcasts can be found at http://mixlr.com/thedotaradio/showreel/. Make you sure you also keep an eye out for the the stream listed as zyori.tv on the TL calendar!
Please feel free to use this thread for feedback / criticism. We are still fine-tuning every aspect of this new project, so your input is greatly valued. Thanks!!
Wow, this is really great! I was thinking just a few days ago how lovely it would be to have an audio only stream for dota 2 when I'm unable to devote attention to a screen. Thank you, I can't wait to check it out.
I watched/listened for 2-3 hours and it's pretty good. The casting was, I'd say, better than what you'd find on most streams that aren't a major established studio (bts/jd).
I'd think that even if the radio broadcast might not be the biggest market there's potential of just being another team to cover events through the live stream.
My main criticism is the audio of the co-commentator. Especially if it's supposed to be audio-focused, it really needs to be better. Of course it wasn't terrible, we've heard worse on bigger streams several times, but for this it needs to be improved.
This is an idea I've been waiting for someone to get behind for months. An audio only broadcast of tournaments. I hope to see a lot of content and variety of tourneys. GL and I'm listening.
I love this idea. Honestly I sometimes do this with streams (listen to them when I'm doing something away from my computer) but obviously it's not the same. Good luck.
I've always wondered about the idea of audio-only streams and how good they could be, this is pretty cool. Best of luck with it, Dota seems like the kind of game this could really work for.
