Awwwwww yisssssss! My brother and his dumb ass friends keep telling me that LoL is a better game because of the different game modes you can play. With this addition, Dota will now be better looking, more mechanically demanding, AND have cool game modes out the ass. Suck on that, League.

Now it is going to be easy to create things in Dota 2. And more popular.

? LoL had only 1 more game mode? And it is awful... Dota 2 has custom games for Halloween and Christmas... so technically Dota 2 already had more modes to play than League

They have like four that are available year-round. In addition to the standard, there's also a 3v3 variant, a capture point/deathmatch mode, and a 5v5 ARAM mode.

Dota has literally all of those except Dominion. It doesn't have matchmaking for 3v3s or ARAMs, but you just join a custom lobby no problem. Plus Dota has things like All Tusk All Mid

I wonder if someone will create some shit tier tutorial so the general populous can at least screw around with it at this stage of the game. I really loved making terrain in wc3. That was the best.

if they can come anywhere close to replicating amazing war3 custom maps, this shit is going to be NUTS. I can't even begin to describe how hyped I will be for a proper custom map scene after the colossal failure of sc2 arcade.

Yes I agree wc3 had the best customs ever... They briefly got me away from BW and DotA even... I think SC2 had potential with arcade (some of the possibilities with map maker were crazyy) but because of the stupid matchmaking where you can't see lobbies and you just see a catalog of games whether someone's in or not made is very sad (apparently now you can see the list of lobbies, but no one ever uses arcade so caput). I would create a TMA or a Hydra Zone back in the BW days and people just out of curiosity would join because my lobby would show up on their list. Now in SC2, only like 5 games are ever played on arcade.

Reverse-ception... DotA was created from War3 with some inspiration from BW. And now we make BW/WC clones with Dota mapmaker

I doubt it will come close to WC3. It just won't be as simple and flexible as the WC3 editor. It's a diferent engine, made for a far more specific purpose. Doesn't mean it won't be possible to make amazing stuff, if it happens, but I don't think it will be that easy.

I think how easy the editor is to use will be a big factor in how successful the custom maps are, as well as the lobbies for the custom maps. That's SC2's custom games biggest flaws. You can do some crazy things with the editor, but unlike WC3's where it was so easy to use, it's much more complicated. And like above, the Arcade has a horrible way of showing you games.
