Items + Show Spoiler + Stats + Show Spoiler + ![]() ![]() Build + Show Spoiler + ![]() Golves and boots specially suck. They are the pieces that can get the highest dex bonus and yours have <100. Try to get some offensive gloves and high dex boots and worry about resists on other gear (shoulders, belt, pants, chest, bracers, helm). Really after patch you should only need high resists in those 6 pieces and be good to go. Everything else you should focus on DPS first and defense later (dex is nice cuz it gives you both). You can even drop your shield completely after you have good enough gear.

Crippling wave works best when you are getting mobbed on, so unless you can survive very easy it would be hard to use it to its full potential and not die. FoT is the best spirit generator and has a knockback on level 3 (not sure if lightning flash destroys the knockback). FoT is better single target dps then crippling wave so it might be more suited for HC, since you want to go carefully as not to die. WoHF is teh best DPS out of the group and backs knockback I would recomment the crit increasing attack speed it buffs your dps the most. You generate spirit slower then FoT and are lockdown during the second attack for a longer period of time making you immobile. SC i would go with WoHF, HC i would go with FoT, its more mobile and generates spirit for your defencive abilities faster, you might not kill as fast but it will be easier for you to survive. Thanks for the answer! My initial thoughts kinda match yours. I was really happy by the increased DPS when I started to use WoHF but quickly realized that the attack animation and the immobile thing was going to be a problem in HC. I'm gonna stick to FoT with Lightning Flash rune then ![]()

You will not kill fast at all, team up with some dps'ers. Focus on Dex, Resist all, Resist (element of your choosing), Loh, vitality. This build is pretty stable against elite as long as you decent gear. Dashing strike will get you out of sticky situations, i would recomend practicing it on SC Keen Eye gives you a good armor bonus. You can also kite elites with strong affix's with this. Sweeping winds combined with resolve makes you have a -25% enemy damage (if you dashing strike onto their ranged mobs, you will be in range of melee and ranged for the debuff) MoH the 20% extra resist is nice, you can swap this one out for MoE with hard target. Its personal peference, MoE offers more mitigation from armor and dodge. Moh offers more resist the higher your resists are and tags on extra healing. Find one you feel comfortable with and roll with it. Breath of Heaven will keep your HP topped off. You can also test out the 1.5 second fear rune. It doesn't heal as much but it gives you another escape mechanism. Serenity is HC manditory imo, its your oh shit ability that gives you 4 seconds to find a fix before you die. I know alot of SC monks are using FoT in higher level inferno builds, but deadly reach would be considered the safer build, its just slower.

I'd personally get sweeping wind firestorm over breath of heaven but that's debateable. I'd never swap out transcendence for resolve though especially with low attack speed. It was viable with over 2+ attacks per second I guess.

I'm doing it with 18k and 900 loh but really hate taking as long as I do with ny dps, but I suppose you can't really get much higher ??? Skip extra hp? There's 2 ways to kill elites 1: Kill them with serenity and possibly blind durations and run when they're not up 2: Match your healing/second xdamage reduction versus their DPS input (hp doesn't matter) I did the 2nd part mostly, if I couldn't I geared up more, and when they out damage you you just need to kite more therefore take less damage while you're waiting for cds and thereby increasing the healing in versus dps in. The less you have to kite the faster you kill something. So with 15k DPS if he has better defensive stats he can kill faster perhaps. Or perhaps he has a different build? With mystic ally and sweeping wind you won't need much DPS to kill elites fast if you don't have much trouble surviving them.

If you're just using sweeping wind offensively you're going to have problems but you can easily change build to fix the problem.
